I finally hit Act 3 last night and man that first level is awesome. I hope the remaining acts have a healthy wave of mobs to click on.

Also, I didn't even notice that whole General Chat thing until I was examining IQ with different AA levels. I had a good laugh at some of the stupid things said, but I went back to the clickity-clak.

Are some people really bothered by that? I guess my years in WoW have trained me to ignore chat box unless Red/Purple/Green/Orange text appears haha.

for classes and such... what does +1 dex/vit/int equate to for dmg and such..

i know str adds to armour int adds to res and such..

1 vit = 30hp? is there a chart somewhere..

Open your inventory click details under your toon and then mouse over the various stats it gives you detail.

Beat Inferno act 1 last night. I notice that the point of the game now that I'm level 60 is that you just grind for gold, then buy your upgrades from the AH, saves a lot more time grinding trying to find decent upgrades from mobs, that's for sure.

Anybody else besides me not interested in playing inferno difficulty at all? I'm close to finishing normal with the monk, have already finished normal with a 32 WD. Once I beat with the monk, I'm not sure if I'm going to start a new wizard or start NM with my WD.

I probably won't ever invest enough time to get to/through Inferno myself. Once I finish up Nightmare with my Wizard, I might just shelve it for a few months. Or switch over to either a Demon Hunter or a Witch Doctor, both of which intrigue me at least slightly. But then I have other games to play as well, so....

Thing is, I am determined not to get sucked into the Auction house, and definitely not the RMAH. So since I am never going to get the premium gear necessary for Inferno, I just don't see the point in working to get there.

I'm really hoping Torchlight 2 is good, because I'm ready to shelve D3.

Inferno is so ridiculously retarded come late Act 3... my buddy with a barb with 60k life dies in under 2 seconds, and I get one shot by everything (with dmg reducing skills and 60% resists)... if it wasn't for teleport, I'd die every single time a pack appears.

I wouldn't complain if I could gear up in previous acts, but you can only find upgrades in the acts you can't hardly run. A1 Inferno doesn't drop 700+ 1 handers for example; you need to be in A3 to even have a chance at a 1k 1 hander, and when it takes literally 10 straight minutes of kiting to kill an elite pack == retarded.

sigh.

How does having multiple people in a game make enemies scale in terms of dmg/difficulty in Inferno? Let's say my friend and I did the same dmg/surv/etc and we couldn't down an elite alone, would joining up increase our dmg compared to the elite's(with the multiplayer buff ofc)? Or would the elites just double their dmg/surv and make joining up pointless?

My friend and I are in Hell atm and it's working fine, but I'm just curious if Inferno is another animal when it comes to group runs.

Nah, it would be harder cause their life increases greatly as well. Its easist solo, or maybe two people max. Either way its near impossible. 😛

Yes the Whimsy staff is backward compatible with the lower difficulties.

is it a 1 time shot per level? someone said once its cleared you can't go back and redo it. IF so that s waste. i did it the other night and NOTHING good dropped.

In inferno, each additional party member adds an extra 110% health to monsters and an extra 15% damage dealt.

It's really hard to carry someone that doesnt have the proper gear, especially past act 1.

You can keep running it all you like. Took me 3 runs to get my first ever Legendary item to drop from a Unicorn Team of Elites.

No it is not a 1time shot. My friends and I did multiple runs of Hell Whimseyville, it resets every time you make a new game.

So more than twice the kiting needed. I'm pretty sad now considering that the game is mostly fun because of the multiplayer. It kind of seems to defeat the purpose if it's less worthwhile to group in the hardest difficulty.

Not asking for the elites to be ridiculously easy, but for it to scale just a little bit in favor of the group in order to encourage queuing if you can't solo it. Say +90-95% of health.

Thanks for the reply though.

This is one thing I've noticed as well. The game seems to discourage groups. Mobs increase in power at a rate faster then your group grows, your MF is averaged across the group meaning you can't really stack MF in group, and I can't see any really useful synergys between the classes. It seems every class can do everything, no need to add a barbarian in to tank, he is really no better then my wizard at it.

If you are with a group of friends the strategies you can use outweighs the mob scaling. Your group can also stack MF, the one I'm running always switches before a boss dies or for chests.

Synergy between classes? There's a ton. Monk/barb tanking means ranged can focus on dps/aoe. Barb shouts and monk mantras buff each other. You can run armor/resist + dodge/armor. They could go DPS buffs and help the whole group. One of the monk mantras/runes buffs everyone's dps by 48% if you spam the ability every 3 seconds, 24% when it's not refreshed.

Chain stunning/CCing mobs can be invaluable.

lol@wizard can tank like a barb, maybe at low levels...

well that sucks, ported to town to sell some junk and tabbed out to right this, ported back to the dungeon and some blue drops on the ground had gone bye-bye.

Question guys- is it worth the time and money to train the blacksmith?

At this point no.

But, to train him to lvl 10 (ie max the BS) is paltry. Level him up as you can, but don't expect to craft good gear once he is levelled. A lvl 10 item will cost 50,000 gold plus to craft, and at the least you should craft 5-100 at one time. Let me rephrase, "don't craft until you have millions of gold to gamble with".

You can craft something truly legendary on your first try, but most likely it will be 100 strength and intelligence with increased gold pickup yards.
