My level 21 monk is waiting for next weekend to get together with my 4 player party and start Act II. I have a feeling we're going to be overpowered through the rest of normal difficulty.

I played barbarian in the beta and liked it, but I'm enjoying monk more. I just started a witch doctor (level 6) and I'm not really enjoying it.

I finally broke down and purchased. My whole sunday has been spent playing with a barbarian. 7 hours into it and level 11 barbarian. making some coffee and going back to playing in about 15 min.

Gonna buy the bell I think after getting back from walking the dog, have almost 300k so it shouldn't be too bad spending the 100k for it.

Currently in Act 3 inferno. Act 2 was absolutely brutal. IMO, it needs to get nerfed and it probably will. The only way people are getting through is by corpse hopping right now.

I don't think it will be nerfed. Blizzard said they made Inferno more difficult until the testers said it was hard enough, then Blizzard doubled that difficulty level. It is intended to be very difficult.

I like the idea of an extreme difficulty level, maybe even to the point that you only finish it with a bit of luck. At least it's an option to challenge yourself. And since it's optional, it's not like you HAVE to do it.

Also Inferno is meant to be jumped right into soon as you beat Hell. You'll need to farm hell to get top end gear to do inferno without it being so extreme.

Do you have the blacksmith plans first? Or do you just need the bell? I found the blacksmith plans that use the bell.

Have to tell you guys. Forget the whole mentality of spending all your cash blacksmithing. Its not worth it. Spend it shopping in auction house for items. Save up your gold and just shop AH.

I see what all the smart players are doing now. Because the game is so new, some people just have no clue what things sell for in the auction house. If you sit at the auction house for a while, you can get some crazy good deals on stuff. I see some stuff that gets listed, and all the good deals are purchased almost instantly.

I bought quite a few things last night screwing around there. The good stuff goes fast so...

Its not the best thing in the world but I picked up a 1 hand axe or whatever it was for my wizard that was around 125 damage with some vitality, and around 70-80 intelligence and an open socket with added attack speed and few other mods for like 3000 gold... That is super cheap. Spend 4X that just upgrading stupid gems.

Picked up a pretty killer rare ring for like 2000 gold as well which was way better than the crap I had.

On top of that, a few items I bought in AH I just resold almost instantly for a profit. lul

Report him for botting.

Nope, I did some more reading on it, need the plans, the rest of the stuff isn't too difficult to get. Will cost 150k total to make (100k for Wirt's Cowbell and 50k to actually make it at the blacksmith)

Wow this is a long game. I got it release day and I'm at the Fields of Misery part

That low level stuff really isn't great since you burn through equipment changes so often, but I do agree about shopping in the AH.

I was having a hard time on A4 Hell, and found a 759 dps staff in the AH for 100k gold (which isn't anything). My dps jumped from 6k to 13k from that one item... made Hell a cakewalk, cept Diablo got a lucky lightning on me when I trapped myself...

There are some ridiculous prices on there now - who has 20 million gold?

There's a difference between difficulty and game breaking mechanics. I'm all for having a challenge and being forced to plan my encounters. However, right now inferno is all about kiting and cheesing because no amount of strategy or gear will let you beat a vortex/molten/shielding/fast mob that can two shot your character in full act 1 inferno gear. Something is wrong when you wipe 10 times before giving up on a pack of bees but take out Azmodan on the first try. I feel sorry for the melee classes who can't even kite.

I'm playing a Witch Doctor atm and i think it might be the only class that does not require as much clicking. I think it takes away a little bit of the fun. There is still a lot of kiting involved which does keep you occupied but meh.

Does the witch doctor have bigger/better spells later on? im on level 12 right now.

I started a WD to complement my level 13 monk (still in Act 1 - I found it to be quite long. are people just speeding through?). At low levels just spamming those spiders with Desecration (come on, that's what it is basically) to snare mobs is cheesy and easy. It is funny seeing the difference in damage done by the spiders when you're putting a ~8 dps weapon instead of the starter knife. I like the concept of spells going by weapon damage.
