They already promised long ago if they go under they'll make patches to unlock all their games.
As did Valve.

Promises like that are easy to make when you are flush. Have them go into bankrupsy and those promises will just cost money they don't have, and potentially jeopardize their ability to monetize what ever is left of the franchises.

I had no idea until today that a wizard should upgrade his beginning wand to a dagger or other weapon. I had just kept the wand because that seems logical for a wizard but obviously a regular sword will increase your spells, which is really odd.

Now I know I guess...

Yup, I am still learnin the mechanics as well. I played many years of D2 so, some of the stuff I am used to in ARPGS is completely different in D3.

I guess any damage items adds to spell damage which is a little different than most games. I learned that as well. Right now I use a 1-handed sword that does like 30 dmg, which is like double what my wand was. Also, intelligence doesnt even help the wizard I dont think, except for maybe dmg I guess? I dont know. He doesnt even use mana though, only witch doctor does.

the secondary attack uses mana, like the energy ball or whatever it is called.

that's interesting, I didn't know that at all, but I haven't played a wiz yet. I will definitly be using a swd then.

It's not a sword that is important. It's weapon DPS. Your spell dmg and casting speed are determined by your weapon, no matter what type weapon it is.

No it doesnt, it uses arcane power....

Ya but what is also hard to get used to is, attack speed helps spells attack speed which is completely different for me. Usually its cast rate for spells and attack speed for weapons.

For the wizard, each point of int translates directly to 1% extra damage. That's it, pretty simple. The WD is the same. For the monk and DH, its dexterity. For the barb, it's strength.

Yeah it's all semantics. All classes use a resource orb and they're all named something different cause Blizzard wanted each class to have to manage it slightly different.

I also hate how you cant have a merc(follower) with other players in the game. I want my merc!!

Also, which merc do you guys think is the best? Ive been using enchantress.

Valve unlocking the games is a lot different than Blizzard and their MMO-esque Diablo 3. If they do go under they won't have the resources to do what they claim. And we can't forget they are owned by the devil. D:

Um, D3 would need massive changes to decouple it from Battle.net. A company that's about to go under isn't likely to invest in making those changes.

In a perfect world they'd at least release their source code so the community could keep the game alive. But if Blizzard was really dying I'm sure they'd be selling their IP instead of giving it away.

Ugh, I want to play this but think my ancient computer didn't stand the test of time.

X2 3800
320mb 8800gts
2gb ram

Just barely squeaking out the minimum. God, I don't want to upgrade.

Ask someone for a Guess Pass and try it out. I'm betting it will run decent at medium settings.

ok. i sent request to everyone in the OP post as of 8.02 pm eastern.. if i missed anyone please feel free to send me one.. time to finish up a solo run so i cant start playing with everyone.

Anyone else getting a bunch of lag spikes right now? I just updated my network adapter drivers to try to fix a bootup issue and I'm hoping that didn't cause it.

what is everyone doing with their purple items? disenchanting them? I tried to sell some on AH but nothing sold and its very hard to gauge what to sell it for.

They need to totally revamp the AH. Not being able to search by item name for anything, can't have items in order of time left, and not being able to cancel auctions, just a bunch of stuff, it feels truly half assed.
