Started a Barbarian at lunch and played for 45 minutes!
That's when I said to myself "It sucks to have a life today"...

This game is pure fun imo. It's been a long time since I started playing a game and after 1:17 minute I was hooked. Sure that may change and the fact that they dumbed down the customization is something bad, but I'm finding myself in a near zombie state in front of the screen.

Think I could get robbed in my own place without caring at all, as long as I kill moar zumbees....................
 
At work, but received the game in the mail this morning. Can confirm i received 3 d3 guest passes and 1 WoW game pass. Pretty stoked to go home....
 
Well i will certainly wait forming my own opinion, i KNOW that many now just complain and give "bad ratings" based on login problems or because the RMAH...but this is not how you review a game.

Although the missing character customization is a minus for me personally.
 
Yeah i'm a little worried about the missing character customization. I loved when people messed up their characters in d2 and owning in pvp

Can I get a guest pass? I'm going on vacation next week and have stuff to do before I go and don't want to buy the game yet, but I'd love to play it a little bit before I go.

This, I really don't care about the lack of skill points and stat points but making it 4 players only is pretty stupid. I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about this it's a way mroe annoying change imo.
 
Regarding the character customization:

It's a top down hack and slash - you won't see your character that close, ever. I guess you might be able to see the difference in your hair style?

Regarding the stat distribution:
Yes, I very much so miss arbitrarily putting points into strength to get enough to equip the armor that I want once I get to the right level and then putting the rest into health, maybe some into dex to get max hit chance. /sarcasm.

Customization comes through the equipment stats, runes, and skills loadout.

Yeah this is bad for blizz. Review sites are already ripping this game apart because of the connection issues, and now users will be not playing the game, but flooding the forums with negative comments. For some reason all of the sudden a lot of people hate this game (not just the connection issues, but the overall gameplay). I think people are just pissed off and venting any way they can.

Not good for day 1.
 
Do people seriously expect to play games that require online connectivity first day? It isnt like we dont have a long history of the exact opposite happening.
 
Managed to get in at 7am CST. Taking a break but keeping my game open. I'm very pleased with the difficulty so far. Our group has wiped a couple times on bosses in normal.

Agreed, I really expected better from Blizzard on this. They have been runinng the most successfull MMO of all time for how many years now? Yet they were totally unprepared for this? Either a janitor hit a light switch that was actually a switch for a bunch of servers or Blizz was totally unaware of the load that was incoming. Not a good first day.
