What I'm wondering is that now since it's pushed back into 2012 if they'll just keep pushing it back. I mean, does it really matter if it comes out in February vs. August? Or later? Availability for the holidays has always been a big deal, and now it's clear that's not happening I don't see any sort of urgency to release it sooner than later.
 
I think the major timing issue would be that they want to space out the releases of D3, the SC2 expansion and the new WoW expansion.

It matters to me 🙁 I graduate in May and who knows if I'll have time for vidya after I start working...
 
Today is Blizzard's shareholder conference call, and they will be required to tell the shareholders if they are going to push it back past Q1 2012.

There was an interesting write-up at one of the Diablo Fan sites that looked at the habit of Blizzard in announcing their products release date at least 8 weeks before release. It turns out that Blizzard has announced every product they have released since WoW at least 8 weeks early, which makes since for marketing reasons.

So, if they do say today that they still intend a Q1 2012 release, that would mean that if they intend to release in January, they should announce the release date in the next week or two, if they do not we can probably expect a February release, and will know about it early December.

let's keep our finger cross, this much awaited game really makes alot of issue. however im pretty exited to play D3...
 
i am pretty sure Blizz will not disappoint its fan. this is the sort of company who tries to do things the best way possible and that is why they are always pushing things back

They were really sneaky and said 'we are still targeting an early 2012 launch.' Which is new wording from the previous statements. It means that they do not feel confident enough to make any promises to their shareholders on even the approximate launch date of D3, so it is not looking good for a release in January.

In other news, they also stated that they were only expecting 2 title's to be released in 2012. So, that might mean that either the next Starcraft title or more likely the WoW Panda bear expansion has been bumped to 2013.
 
I would say that Mists of Pandaria coming out in 2012 is almost assured at this point.

Unless Blizzard receives a major blow, they've stated that 4.3 is the last major content patch to come out for Cataclysm. They will be releasing a 4.4, which will be more like a transition patch to ease players into 5.0 (Mists of Pandaria's major content patch) through the usual world changing events. A similar patch was released for Cataclysm which featured the Twilight's Hammer's doomsday event and the liberation of Gnomereggan.

Although, it seems like Heart of the Swarm is also pretty far along. They were playing the multi-player at BlizzCon, so I would assume that they're mostly just working on implementing the story/campaign at this point, and fine tuning the new units.
 
well, theres no other choice. we have to wait for Diablo 3, its better than never. And perhaps we already wait this for long time.

If I had to guess.

Diablo 3, March/April 2012.
WOW Expansion Nov/Dec 2012
Next SC Title, Q1/Q2 2013.
Titan Q4 2013 to 1H 2014.
Last SC Title, Q4 2014

They are going to crank out the WOW expansion, you can bet on it because they need to.

Happy birthday to me!

When I got to work this morning, I was greeted with 59 mins of admin leave because it was my birthday (lol--they apparently do this for everyone atm, but this was the 1st time I'd heard of it), and just after I logged off the PC to take advantage of my extra hour, I got the email from Blizz (on my phone) stating I'm in the beta. 😀

So...I'm assuming they just sent out a new wave of invites. GL if you're still wanting in.

That seems like way too late of a prediction on the WoW expansion. The last raid content patch is expected before the end of November, and raid tiers typically only have a 3-4 month time span (any more than that is simply too long). As I mentioned, there's a 4.4 on the books, which is planned to be the "bridge patch" to introduce more story elements that lead up to the 5.0 (Mists of Pandaria) major content patch.

Based on this, I would suspect that we'll see a May to July release for Mists of Pandaria. I'd probably pinpoint it more toward the latter half of June or possibly the early half of July.
 
SCHEWEET just checked my email and it looks like I got a beta invite! I hope it's not one of those fake scammer links. Looks legit and not asking for personal info so hopefully! 😀
