I found a lv60 Leoric's Signet that isn't half bad. I like how the lower level legendaries can roll as level 60 items.

Though I found a new sunkeeper with zero MF, and a friend found a level 60 nagelring that had MF on it. I'm not sure what their MF logic is.

They want to make MF a real stat again, but only on correct items.

what's the new barb hotness? now that fury gen is pretty fucked up, i guess ww/beserk/hammer builds are useless?

I don't even understand how you are supposed to progress with a brand new character.

Do you beat the game on normal and then switch to hard? Do you start on hard? On expert?

Do you just grind an act on a difficulty for a while until you can bump up the difficulty on the same act?

If mobs scale to your level, then why do we even needs difficulties? Although auto-scaling mobs have proven time and time again to be a terrible thing.

I want to try D3 with the patch, but I want to start completely fresh.

You now can level in any act you want on any difficulty you want. We need difficulties so when you hit 60 there's still progression.

I am playing since patch, and here is something interesting:

With the exception of Skeleton King after resetting my quests, this was the ONLY boss which actually dropped legs.

I don't think that any other boss OR ANY OTHER ELITE PACK did EVER drop anything of value. The good drops, legs and sets all came from random crap, barrels etc. and special events.

Which effectively means that fighting elite packs AND bosses has become totally worthless, in fact it's only a waste of time and nuisance....which makes the entire game ABSURD.

It's the "I hope some effing barrel drops a legendary while I AVOID (!) all bosses and elite packs"-Game! Because you KNOW that every boss or elite pack won't drop you ANYTHING worthwhile,at least at my gear level!

When difficult fights (bosses, packs) don't get rewarded whatsoever you should ask yourself WHY you actually play this. I do this right now. And I honestly don't know why I am fighting packs or bosses. For 3 or 4 shitty yellows? While some legendary may be hidden in a barrel the room next over.

ABSURD.

I've gotten several legendaries from boss packs so far. Also from regular mobs and chests/barrels. Random. Period.

Edit: corrected "mobs"...stupid autocorrect

I don't think my question was answered...

I am starting a brand new character. I have to start in Act 1 right? Should I start on normal, hard, or expert? How does monster scaling fit in?

If you are supposed to start on expert, then what is the point of normal or hard? If you are supposed to start on normal, then when do you switch to hard or expert?

Difficulty makes the game .. more difficult. If you want a harder difficulty try raising the difficulty. The harder the difficulty the greater the rewards. You can play at any difficulty you want, the monsters scale to your level. Here are some numbers for you.

Normal: +0% Health, +0% Damage, +0% Gold Find, +0% Experience

Hard: +200% Health, +130% Damage, +75% Gold Find, +75% Experience

Expert: +320% Health, +189% Damage, +100% Gold Find, +100% Experience

Master: +512% Health, +273% Damage, +200% Gold Find, +200% Experience

Torment I: +819% Health, +396% Damage, +300% Gold Find, +300% Experience

Torment II: +1311% Health, +575% Damage, +400% Gold Find, +400% Experience

Torment III: +2097% Health, +833% Damage, +550% Gold Find, +550% Experience

Torment IV: +3355% Health, +1208% Damage, +800% Gold Find, +800% Experience

Torment V: +5369% Health, +1752% Damage, +1150% Gold Find, +1150% Experience

Torment VI: +8590% Health, +2540% Damage, +1600% Gold Find, +1600% Experience

If your from the EU I can powerlevel you. I can borrow you all my XP gear. I can get you to 1-60 in little over 2 hours. 🙂
Post your BT if you don't want to play all ACTS all other again 🙂
I'm free tomorrow and have nothing to do.

Once RoS comes out, adventure mode will be in play where you don't have to do Act1.

Devs were talking about more loot bonuses for doing campaign after the SK bug guaranteed a LEG drop post reset.

In the mean time, the point of difficulties is to pick what you enjoy and/or can beat. The difficulty slider is exceptionally important for Hardcore characters.

Leveling my new softcore Barb on torment 1-3, I'm level 29 before Act 1 is even over.

Still waiting for you to add me! 🙂

I'm farming Torment I pretty easily, found a good run in Act III where exp flies, thinking of moving to Torment II soon. I took a good 2h for a dps boost, but I use AP generation from signature (electrocute) to raise AP for frozen orb spam. Electrocute is slower this way, but frozen orb hits a lot harder!

Either way, still loving this post-patch game.

I really like the new patch so far. I've found 6-8 legendaries or so, and 2 have been actual upgrades for my DH. The others have been close to upgrades.

One of the legendaries is the new strong-arm bracers. They have a "enemies received 24% more damage after being knocked back" roll on them, and that has actually got me to change my build around a bit to include some knock back skills.

Been doing some crafting. I found the demon skin plan, and made myself a fire monk. All DS items come with 80+ fire resist. Made some gloves, and ran into 3 triefectas. However, they don't roll the super high cc, cd, ias though. I wanna craft jewelry again.

The AH was one of the primary reasons they stated that the game require a continual online connection. With that being removed yet leaving the online component intact I am going to give this a pass.

Sorry I was very busy for the past couple of weeks. I finish my exams now and I have 1 week to enjoy the new patch! 🙂
I'm really sorry that I ignored your messages.
Please bare with me I'm still new to the Patch. Feel free to add me SuperSaiyan#2251 (EU)
Anyone can add me 🙂

Sadly, I've kind of noticed this to. I haven't seen Elites drop much other than yellows for me. Legs have been coming from regular mob packs or barrels and boxes for me as well. I hope this isn't or won't be the norm.

Yesterday I got Maximus (2H sword) and The Barber (dagger)...not really upgrades but cool to see some legendaries dropping finally cause after my 4 set pieces 1.5 hour after the patch, loot was dry. Only shitty rares.

I pushed my difficulty to T1 yesterday. It's a bit much harder and I actually need to be cautious in certain moments. It's really fun to have a challenge now. As my gear gets better i'll push my luck slowly.

Other thing, yesterday I bought the Hellfire ring design for the jeweler. Are the mats random drops from mobs/bosses or I have to farm specific stuff?

All information from here and the forums for the 2.0.1 changes (drop chances w/ difficulties.)

Before you can even begin to think about crafting a Hellfire Ring, you’re going to need an Infernal Machine. Crafted by the Blacksmith, Infernal Machines will allow you to access one of three portals. Inside each portal resides a pair of Uber bosses. Defeat these bosses and there’s a chance that they’ll drop one of the Hellfire Ring components. This percentage chance is based on your torment level, 25% at torment 1 up to 50% at torment 6.

1) The Key of Destruction is dropped by Odeg the Keywarden in Act I. He’s located in the Fields of Misery, which is a sprawling open area riddled with enemies.

2)Sokahr the Keywarden drops the Key of Hate. He is found in the Dahlgur Oasis, which is an enormous map located in the middle of Act II.

3) The Act III key is dropped by Xah’Rith the Keywarden in Stonefort.

4) (Plans) Travel to the Silver Spire Level 1 with the quest “Prime Evil” in act 4. There you will find Nekarat the Keywarden and a slew of elite mobs.

This guy is such an enormous pain in the ass. He is 5x more dangerous than any of the other keywardens. Dodging the mortars is a must (and thankfully is as easy as staying mobile when they start coming down), but he also has some fucking move where he turns and rockets away from you (not the teleport) which insta-kills me every time, even on Torment 1, and I have ~950k toughness. As far as I can tell he doesn't telegraph this move so you can't dodge it, and I haven't been able to determine if I'm triggering it somehow. So stupid. Thank god for revive on corpse

3) The Act III key is dropped by Xah’Rith the Keywarden in Stonefort. Select the “Kill Azmodan” quest and head to the Tower of the Damned.

Not sure why you would want to go to Tower of the Damned. Stonefort has its own waypoint, at the start of the level, which is the only way in to the zone.

I am a bit disappointed with the "smart loot" system in regards to legendaries. It seems like they removed what made them all unique and now they are just "good items". They don't retain their unique properties that make people want them, just a collection of whatever random rolls and maybe a special roll. A Mempo is just a rare helm now with slightly better stat rolls... Completely worthless, IMO.

Also, if you have good trifecta rings / amulets, good luck replacing those.

Don't understand that comment about legendaries. I had none before and the couple I've gotten since the patch have all been equipped as useful upgrades.

There are some legendaries (and set items as well) like that yes, but they also added a slew of legendaries that have new unique effects, modified some of the old legendaries with new effects (the existing items will not be changed, only new drops get the new effects), and added quite a few high lvl sets with unique effects as well. So... I don't know what ur even talking about.
