Hey, could someone help me out with gold for an auction tonight? There's a source for my wizard I'd love to get. I have about 170 exquisite essence and maybe 30 iridescent tears I could sell. My auctions are full and I didn't realize I was going to have so many materials so fast. 1800 gold a piece, anyone?

Got to Act 2 Inferno for the first time with my Barb. Ran into my first elite mob: it was a group of 3 or 4 champion Fallen. They had fire chains, illusion (where duplicates are made), nightmare, and I forget what else. Anyway, I kill 3 out of the 4, and I'm down to the one remaining fallen, and he's probably at 5% health, 10% at the most, anyway, and I get my first experience with the "Out of Time" debuff... Another retarded game mechanic. I die, and I come back, oh... what a shock, he's still got the debuff going and it melts me instantly... Is this a raid or something?

I know, I know... I need more DPS, and I need to go back and re-gear, and that "might" solve my issue. Very frustrating, and NOT fun at all. I was already inclined to do so, but now I'm pretty sure I'll be shelving D3 for a bit until they get rid of some ridiculous things such as that debuff.

You can list exquisite essence on the AH for roughly 1800-2000 gold each, IIRC.

Fun little timer that actively kills you! 😀 Surprised you never encountered one in act 1.

life of a melee class in D3 being very item dependent

I recently hit Lvl 60 on a DH and progressed up through killing Maghda. I honestly think a DH could progress through much of A2 with less than 1M in expenditures to buy dex/vit gear and a blue weapon. think a DH would have a hell of a time killing Belial with just a 1M investment, but difference between gear needed to progress for a ranged and melee class in D3 is pretty wide.

Barbs are probably the best class in the game when geared though but that's a lot of time, effort, gold

I've gotten some steals on the RMAH for $1.50. Resell for 10x that. I've kept a couple weapons that were level 63 with a 5 level requirement stat. 900dps at level 56 ain't too shabby.

I'm... glad? you actively support pay to progress video game systems.

I can either pay 5 million on the AH or $1.50 on the RMAH for the same item. Do I care that it is real money? No. It doesn't matter because I resell the gear I'm replacing and make a profit. Made $22 yesterday and doubled my DPS. Or should I grind away on blues to afford something half the DPS?

WHAT THE FUCK

OK, AGAIN I get fucked on AH. I bid on a pair of gloves, I'm winning, but bids are getting closer. So I up my max bid and it gives me an error that the bid failed. It now shows my bid as 0. I try to bid again on it...bid failed. This is NOT a case of anyone outbidding me. I find the gloves again by searching, it shows a lower bid than what mine was as now winning (it was probably the person behind me in the bidding process). The auction was almost over, and in the remaining 14 minutes no one else bid, and a bid that was LOWER than my bid ended up winning (so ironically I didn't have to increase my max bid after all). What a crock of shit.

Since you have had this problem repeatedly why dont you just bid your drop dead max price?

Blizzard still needs to make an Auction House app so I can day trade for some extra money.

That or at the very least make it accessable from the game itself so I dont have to drop out to do a price check to see if an item is just vendor trash or worth the slot.

I think its funny that RMAH and GAH is supposed to help the casual gamer per say, but without caps on pricing, the only people it really helps are the people with copious amounts of time to surf the AH and look for bargains to either use or resell at the prices that the casual gamers can't afford without grinding gold or buying it.

I get 1 hit in groups, but can take one or sometimes two hits solo. They didn't completely remove extra group damage.

I did a few butcher runs last night just because I was bored and got 3 legendaries. All iLevel 61. Also found 4 or 5 iLevel 63 rare weapons that ended up being trash. How can an Xbow start at 512 DPS unidentified and then end at 560? Trash =(

No so much anymore. The nerfed the hell out of the damage. I find it MUCH easier with a group now.

I die a lot more in groups as a Wizard. Things die far quicker when I solo, so when the mobs last longer the damage output solo and in groups is the same so it just opens me up to be hit by shit for a longer period of time. I stick to soloing for the most part unless I have a really good meat shield.

Yeah the extra 15% damage that use to be added sucked but solo I could kill most normal mobs before they could make it across the screen so it wouldnt have mattered. When Im grouped its the extra HP that really hurts as it takes that much longer to bring stuff down thus increasing the probability that something will go wrong.

lots of people roll their eyes at me when i tell them i use the RMAH... until i tell them that i spent none of my own money on the RMAH. a light goes off in their head when they realize i treat the RMAH the same as the GAH. its just another form of in-game currency, as i have not injected any of my own funds into RMAH, everything i spend is with money i gained from sales. if you know what you want and have a general idea of the worth of items, there is money to be made "day trading" the RMAH.

Prior to 1.0.3 the group damage nerf was definitely noticeable. However following 1.0.3 I feel like group play may again have an enemy damage buff in place, though that's just how it 'felt' to me.

As a solo barb (through lots and lots of Inferno) I've almost never hit inferno enrage timers, and only have in like A3 when taking down a double champion pack lately; I think if you're having trouble with the timers you're getting ahead of yourself. Top end gear is getting more expensive, but I notice more and more that items I could have sold for a few hundred thousand a couple weeks ago are getting much cheaper, the mid-range is far more saturated and inexpensive; which is really all you need to get started into A1/A2.

Cleared HC normal last night on my barb. Curious to see if NM gets relatively more difficult as the bosses should be dropping me fewer rares iirc.

Scared to try HC, internet is not reliable enough to trek on that endeavor.
