They are more skills overall, I believe

Edit: Just counted,

D3 barbarian has 22 active and 15 passive

D2 barbarian has 20 active skills and 10 passive

Every class in WoW does the same thing, no matter how many skills or spells they have. You just ending spamming your favorite two or three buttons, hopefully improved by glyphs. Sounds like a similar system here.

At least they are trying something new. I think a lot of people would have bitched if all Blizz had done is designed a few new levels and come up with a higher res version of D2. This way, at least we get some new gameplay out of the deal. And, it's not like they are completely changing the genre of the game, like the devs did going from DoW1 to DoW2. At least people can't complain about that.

When I looked at the runes, they seemed a bit more complex than glyphs. That isn't to say that there aren't some similarities. For example, some runes just lower the cooldown, and there are glyphs in WoW that do the same thing. There are also runes that completely change the ability in Diablo III, and you don't really see that with glyphs.

And Blizzard has hinted that there are skills that they have not revealed yet. There was a tweet the other day that they were doing some major revisions on skills, but not on any that we have seen yet.
 
The items looks awesome, but I do hope there are more uniques and sets not featured. It seems a bit sparse for a game completely built around loot.
 
I still want to try this game just 'cause I want to see what it is like in the early levels. :/ But blizzard is showing me no love... sigh.

You'd be pretty terrible at WoW using only 2 or 3 skills; you can get by doing a lot with 2 or 3, but if you want to do well in PvP or high end raiding that's not going to work. I had over 40 buttons keyed to skills for a reason.

The way D2 was at the start was pretty terrible; ideal way to play was to save almost all your points till 24 or 30. Once they added in synergies I thought their skill system was fine. I haven't looked into it too much, but the D3 skill system doesn't seem bad either.

I was in BT with my Destro lock spamming SBs all day.

This was not some gay guild, I was in the top 5 guild on my server.

EDIT: OMFG IMMORTAL KING SET

Yea, that doesn't work anymore. At some point, Blizzard made all the classes more complicated; I know in original frost mages just spammed frostbolt; there were classes that were more complicated even then though.

Unless you were on Illidan or something being top 5 on a server is trash; I was in a guild that was top 20 in the US and I'd still consider it just mediocre.
 
Why is IK set worth even noting? Tal rasha is really the only valuable set... I mean, FFS... Sigon was more useful than IK.

I use 6+ abilities pretty regularly in boss fights in my Enhancement Shaman. 😱 I also have about 18 abilities closely bound because I need to be able to use them all at a moments notice. It really sucks now that I'm trying to find a good spot for an on use trinket. :\ If only Synapse Springs didn't put a cooldown on my trinket, I would just be lazy and bind them together!

Well...you can also sell gold on the AH 😀, and they've even mentioned selling characters as a possibility. But with only 10 character slots per account, and being able to "respec" so to speak, I'm not sure how many would want to buy characters. *shrug*

We've yet to see if they'll be successful making gold a useful currency, but if people use the gold AH it's bound to have some value.
 
Ok is the cauldron of Jordan (or w/e the urn that turns items into gold is called) only available in beta? Cause it completely removes the challenge of making space for items and deciding what to bring back to town etc... I really hate it

It'll be in the final game, very unlikely they'll remove it as the idea is to reduce the "unfun/tedious" aspect of the previous games, so as to cater to casuals.
