Not really. The WoW thread is ongoing and gets updated for xpacs. No need for a sales thread to help sell an atrocious game. Leave the D3 discussion in the D3 sticky for those interested..

This is not a sales thread. I could easily remove that link for pre-purchasing the game, but I will not. A mod can close or delete this thread if needed.

The game was not atrocious, just the loot itemization was. The bosses lacked some as well, but everything else was not bad with the game. It got better over time, but the loot is still atrocious, which is supposed to be addressed in the expansion.

If you aren't interested in the game, ignore this thread.

Just for fun, I went to the other thread and it is on page 500 now. Looking back at page 249 and posts are made in June, after the release date of the game. On page 60, people are talking about downloading the game.

Should of clarified; most of the thread is pre-release and shortly after as the reality that the game was garbage settled in.

I won't be getting RoS. I stopped playing a few months ago and uninstalled. I sold some billions and got out before the AH was gone. I very much dislike how Blizzard is changing the game.

I think the point of this thread was to replace the old one, as is the case with the WoW expansion threads. I also don't think Blizzard needs any help promoting anything. Everything they do is talked about by everyone anyway. >_>

Sure. My expectation is sales of the xpac do not eclipse 6 million. Still good by PC game standards, but after the scam and disaster that Diablo 3 was, I am certain sales of the xpac will fall millions and millions short of the base game sales numbers.

The only thing I am excited about with this release is to see how badly it does sales wise compared to the original game. So I am on the hype train as well!

Truthfully, I'll probably buy it.
I would rather give Runic Games more money for an expansion of Torchlight 2 as I enjoyed it a lot more.

I removed the sticky from the large D3 thread as it became relatively inactive. Since this is a new expansion, or whatever, it seemed appropriate to have its own thread/discussion. If those who actually play and discuss the game would prefer everything be merged into the big thread, please let me know and I will do so.

I bought the CE of D3, but I don't think I'll be buying RoS. At least, not any time soon.

They seem to have fixed some parts, primarily loot drops, but that doesn't fix the core class and skill mechanics, the item design, the story, the bosses, or the poor online implementation. Add on top of that the more dubious changes in the expansion like the removal of difficulties, and I can't warrant purchasing it.

Liked D3 ok, but the $$ seems a bit too high for me to bite on this.. Would MUCH rather have a Torchlight 2 Expansion

The quality of user created mods (and the tools to create them) is quickly breaking the value proposition of developer expansion packs for me.

No way I personally get $40 of value out of the D3 expansion when I put it up against the hundreds of hours T2 Workshop content added to the game for free (or donation)

I'll check out the expansion after it's released, but no way in hell I'm pre-ordering it. I did get my money's worth out of D3 with 147 hours played, but I haven't once felt like reinstalling it, while yearly I reinstall D2 for some old school fun.

I will be getting this one on release day. I am looking forward to all of the DH changes. I really want to try playing as a pet DH with five wolves.

I won't order it until the price comes down either. It simply is not worth $40 or even $30, at maybe $10 I'll bite. Until then I might have to go back to T2 and check out some of the user generated content.
