i had the same prob.

it's a conflict with the unreal engine and sp2's DEP. you have to completely disable DEP, and everything will be kosher again.

unless you arent running sp2, then ihave no clue. ;)

Yes it is SP2. What's DEP & how to disable? Found it. I'll give that a go, thanx. Maybe they will have a patch for this prob. Are you saying I have to disable it for everything, just for UT won't work? I don't see a way to disable all, not sure which file to list for UT.

I got a big problem with my DFI Lanparty Ultra-D.
I have an Antec Super Lanboy case, and it requires that I connect the tiny wires from the front panel to the soundcard on the mobo.(mic, audio in, etc) Well I dont have a sound card per se. I have integrated audio on the DFI mobo, so I didnt get a sound card. DFI has what's called a "Karajan module" and this damn thing is located on the upper left of the mobo. The wires from the front panel of the lanboy can only reach the PCI slots that are on the lower right, which means they are just too short to reach the upper part of the mobo!!
Do they actually expect me to throw away the Karajan module and get a soundcard? I mean, that's absurd, there must be a way to solve this problem. I dont want to shell out another $100 on a 7.1 soundcard, when the integrated one is good enough for me.
Can anyone help with this?

right click my computer. select properties. select advanced. under startup and recovery select settings. under system startup select edit. make noexecute=alwaysoff. that worked for me.

ibex333: you could splice some extra wire in the middle of the line.

Sup people? I've had this board for a couple weeks now and I just can't seem to get the damn thing purring. I've been getting endless BSOD's. I've finally managed to get Windows to install on my RAID-0 stripe without the install crashing. IF any of you can help with my issue I need your advice desperately. My specs are below. I've been seeing mostly this error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I know it relates to memory, but I've tried 3 different types of RAM and it does it for all. My new OCZ PC3200 2x512mb Premiere's just came in, and it's doing the same thing. I've tried every single ram slot, dual and single channel. I've tried unhooking all drives, updated to the newest bios, cleared the cmos, upped the ram voltage to 2.8V, and just nothing works. The *only* factor I think could be the problem now is my PSU, which is an Antec 320W from my case. I've just ordered an OCZ Modstream 520W PSU, hopefully that will solve it. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS PLEASE COME FORWARD! Thanks! :)

(by the way, it says in my specs i'm overclocking, but i stopped that for now until i can get this thing going)

I know the DFI NF4 SLI-DR Supports Serial ATA II and has 8 raid connecters. I do not need 8 nor then SLI capability.

Does the DFI NF4 Ultra-D Support Serial ATA II as well? Also, Does it support NCQ? Will the SLI-DR get better raid performance?

I only plan on raiding 2 drives.

Am I missing something in the way of drivers ?

I have a Ultra-D and installed XPsp2, nforce 6.39, & video driver. Aside from the marvel lan are there any other drivers that I forgot to install ?

Because when I go to the DFI site it list the following downloads :

NF4LD310.exe (Bios)
NF4LD310.zip ?
winflash174.zip (bios flasher)

winflash176.zip (under driver section)
F6NF4R.exe (raid driver)
NFref639 w2keng.zip (nforce chip set)
ITE SG 050123.zip ???
AUD-Realtek 368.exe (sound)
Marvell Lan 721.zip

I'm getting a 2nd board Tues. , is this all I need ?

NF4LD310.exe (new bios)

winflash176.zip (flasher)

NForce standalone 6.53

Nvidia video 71.84

Marvell Lan 721.zip

Is this all or did I forget something ?

Thanks for the help.

Regards,
Jose

same here. tough luck. I just don't use the front audio jack. If i need to use the headphone i'll just use the phone jack from the speakers.

Why not buy longer wires?

redefine: check back one page & thanatos 355's reply, you may have issues with DEP & or PAE as well. check it out on MS's site. Thanks again thanatos it seems to have done the trick for me. Whoops, I see you have SP1, if that's right I don't think this will apply.

Derektm: They are all virtually the same board just extra sata or a jumper on the NF4. Sounds like the ULTRA-D is the board 4 U

well, I am getting the same error message. Their isn't a way, as far as I know (although microsoft mentions stuff about it but doesn't exactly tell you how), to completly turn dep off. you can turn it off for use with certain programs. What'd I do? remove the nvidia firewall stuff since that has been known to cause problems. BTW, I don't even have anything besides adobe acrobat and steam installed, so I don't think a piece of software is the culprit.

I was getting a memory dump and a BSOD in games and I was using a dual channel of Corsair PC3200 XLPT extreme latency and I pulled that memory and went to a plain dual Channel of PC3200 C2PT of Corsair and all my problems have been solved. I believe that these boards are picky with memory, ah but a relatively new chipset and working out the bumps.

On the ULTRA-D, there are 4 SATAII ports from the nVidia chip and 4 SATAI ports from the Silicon Image chip. You can raid using NVRaid accross all of the SATA and Parallel channels. It is awesome. The Ultra-D is the only board you need.

I've got the Corsair XL as well. Had problems at first with mild OC,but the key seems to be Trcd set to 3. So far working great.

Hi I would like to know if u think that OCZ VX Memory could be enough cooled by a 120 mm fan in extraction and a 120 mm fan upper a xp 120

Because i would like to put thoose dimm in antec Sonata and as it's a small case i don't know if i will have enough space to put a fan over

and the last question is an Antec truepower 380 W enough for ocz vx memory.

Dont know about the ram, but a 380 Antec will power this board, but it isn't recomended for overclocking. That is a 20pin PS, you will want a 24 pin one if your going to be overclocking.

Hi,

I've got a LanParty UT Ultra-D, with Athlon64 3000+ and Samsung 2 x 512 MB.
The PSU is 24 pin, Levicom XAlien 450 W

The problem I have is that the computer will freeze (first programs stop responding and after several seconds the mouse freezes as well) after a random interval of time, but mostly bigger than 24 hours for sure. So this happens each 1,2 days. First it happened when i OCed, then i ran windows without overclocking, and it still happens. The strange thing is that, i can run SETI or Prime95 or play any game for hours, and the PC would just run quite fine. The freeze may happen out of nowhere, even if the CPU is idle (i'm not sure about the last statement, cause it has always happened to me at times when i am interacting with some app, but no heavy CPU burden for sure).

Any help is greatly appreciated ! Thanks

P.S: my video card is ATI Radeon X700 Pro, and the HDD is Hitachi SATA 120 GB (with 8 mb of cache).

I've left all the bios settings to their default values (except where i have to change it definitely, like boot order and stuff). I've also tested with different BIOS settings as well, still stuck with the same prob.

Regards,
Angel

Whats your ram voltage at?

Often with the ultra-d, you will need more voltage than normal to get it running properly. I use 2.8.

Also, did you run memtest at all? Try it, its even built into the newer bios's.

Same thing is happening to me. It will run for days, but if I turn off the comp, it takes a long time for me to get it up and running again due to the blue screens. I havent tried any new bios yet so Im going to give that a go right now.

Anyone have the Antec SLK3000B case and the DFI Ultra-D? Any pictures?

I'm thinking of getting the Gigabyte X800 XL w/heatpipe and the Thermalright XP-120, so they will be tight fits. I read that the tube on the 3000B doesn't line up with the CPU. How bad is it? Can the tube be modded?

Ok I have my noobtastic question for the day. When I finally get my CPU and put all of the innards together, when I boot up for the first time what should I have pluged in besides the monitor, keyboard, & mouse, or is that all.

Thanks
