Don't forget to clear the CMOS (via jumper) after the BIOS upgrade. I've seen weird problems with boards if they don't get properly cleared.

I'm pleased to announce that I got my system running without incident!! I have the sli-dr board running with an FX-55 proc. The bios which came on the board wouldn't let me adjust the memory voltage.. It was one from January... After updating it with the latest, I can now change it. I got Win XP on it yesterday. I also got it patched... Any idea which drivers should be installed? More importantly which ones I shouldn't install?? I took a look at the firewall program. It looks pretty robust... What do you think of this?? I currently run BlackIce and not sure if I should just use the software which comes with the system or BlackIce... I haven't yet begun to overclock it. What's the software which gives out the temps while in windows?

hardlin: i winflash to the latest bios 310 something after i got the board yesterday :). it's a lanparty sli-d. i selected cmos default before flashing. the flash went well and i rebooted to the new bios. booted up fine then it got to update dpmi or something and backup cmos ok status and just hangs there. i forgot to clear the cmos via the jumper btw. so now whenever i boot up, it'll just hang at backup cmos ok status :(. what to do, what to do? please help.

I'm having serious slow down issues with the active armor / NVfirewall software that comes with the board. With it installed, I get speeds of 13k~. Without it, I get my normal speeds of 200-300k. Anyone know how to configure this properly or what exactly I'm doing wrong?

Thanks! ^_^

clear the cmos jumper now, then load optimized defaults. The reason you should clear the cmos is that sometimes settings in the old bios will conflict with the new, and you will get problems similar to what your getting.

thanks for the advice. ok, this is what i did this morning before leaving for work. i unplugged psu cable, took out battery on the board, and changed to position 2-3 to clear cmos. i remember someone once say to let this sit for awhile before putting everything back to normal. so the cmos is cleared all day now. i hope this work when i get home tonight.

i got the board to boot into windows now, but not thru a normal way. i think i need to reinstall windows. the weird thing is this. whenever i boot up i need to have a windows xp pro cd in the drive. otherwise i get that disk error message like a hard drive with no OS on it. if i boot with the cd, xp will load up fine. anyhow, what are some ocing settings you guys are using. i didn't have time to play with my setup much. i tried 9x275 1:1 ratio, 4x HTT, max vcore like 1.55 or something. ddr settings are 2.5,3,4,7 with 3.3Vdimm. i had all other ram settings on auto. i tried to prime95 all night, but it failed 30 mins into the process. i didn't know about it till i got up this morning. either the rams need more voltage or more cooling. it's ocz pc3200 rev. 2 plat. tccd chips. btw, bios is 310. anyway i'm trying to sell this winnie for $100. it's a retail chip and it's not too bad with ocing.

Hi guys! I tried upgrading the PSU to a 24 pin 480W power supply, my computer is still crashing whenever it does something, like play WoW. This PSU was a little decieving as it is a 20pin PSU with a 20 to 24 pin adapter. I plugged this in, with the 4pin, and it seems to run, but still has the same problem as the previous one. Is this still the cause or is this now being caused by something else???

Any help is much appriciated!

DFI strongly recomends a real 24 pin PSU and Definatly NOT to use a 20 to 24 pin addapter. If you just bought that PSU take/send it back and get a real 24 pin PSU. (read in this thread around page 7 also)

Read the page, again, hehe. Well, going to see how this goes. Know any good 24pin PSUs other than the one listed? And not horrible expensive =P

You don't necesarily need a 24pin PS ...

My comp (in sig, but with a 6800gt instead of the x800xl) was completely stable with my old 20pin Antec Truepower 330w PS with 17a on the 12v rail.

Did 2.8 ram voltage work?

Oh, and the powerstream 420W can be found for $87. Its very nice.

Woot! I got my bundle of joy today: DFI ultra-d:). I was able to inspect the northbridge before I had to go to work, and I think it is moddable to sli! Now I need to order a 3000+ winnie, get my case ready (I knocked out the drive rails on my antec 1040, and a shiny new black front bezel is on the way.), and get this puppy up and running.

Hi guys! I recently joined the A64/DFI/OCZ performance circle. Got my nF4 SLI-DR up and running today. :D Tomorrow my second 6600GT arrives!! Woohoo!! BTW the Zalman 7700 fits but you do have to put the RAM module in the #4 slot before installing the fan.

A heads up:
It seems that the USB 2.0 drivers on the LanParty CD can cause some or all of the USB ports to malfunction. At least that's what happened to me and a few others after doing a search in the DFI Forum. I'd recommend avoiding the USB 2.0 drivers on the LanParty disc and sticking to Windows' USB 2.0 drivers.

Cheers!

Hello Guys,

Can someone tell me where in the LanParty's Genie Bios i can set the HTT:MEM freq. ratio? I have slower RAM, so i would like to keep the ratio to 5:4 or something similar. Thanks
