This is preliminary as I haven't tested much yet, but I'm posting this with my memory (corsair value select) at 2.6V now, which it woulden't even boot at before. With default settings I needed 2.8 to run stable. I changed the Max async latency setting to 8ns. I saw in a post at dfistreet that it should be set to 6 normally, 7 if overclocking, and I decided to be a little more conservative. Also I manually set my cpu mult to 10X, and TRAS to 8, fsb to 200. I'v been prime95ing for around 10 mins now, so its definately not completely unstable. Looks like I got my memory problems partially under control.
Try running memtest to test the memory, it can detect memory errors better than prime can.
Yeah report back and let us know. Its really gonna suck if the Corsair doesnt work good on this board as I hate to buy more memory.

Also. the DFI motherboard has 4 different types of power plugs. The main 24 pin ATX power connection, a 4-pin ATX 12V power connector, and two 4-pin 5V/12V power connectors (FDD-type and HDD type). Which of these (besides the obvious 24 pin) should I connect to my power supply?

2) What do I need in order to enable Cool "n" Quiet? The AMD drivers + DFI ulitlity???
That doesn't look close at all to me. I believe you can install the xp 90 backwards though.Originally posted by: toezar
Is it possible to put the xp-90 on backwards, lol? Although all my parts aren't here yet, I tried putting it on the mobo (without the processor). The way I have it set up, it hangs over the pci-ports (and comes very close to my pci-express video card. Is that wrong? Is it supposed to hang over the RAM slots, like shown in this guy's pictures?

First off ... the more aggressive memory ratio is actually 9/10, not 5/6. 9/10 will make your memory run faster than 5/6 would.

For mooncancook's actual settings, the two end up being almost the same:
240*5/6 = 200 memory frequency
225*9/10 = 202.5 memory frequency

Yeah I tried to keep memory at stock 200 to take the memory out of the equation. Changing the ratio seems the only way to keep ram at 200 while lowering FSB from 240 to 225 for a less aggrassive CPU clock. Any suggestion for what i should try?

So this board has problems with Corsair Value Select PC3200? Could it be a BIOS problem that can be fixed later? I currently have 1gb of the value select and I hate to buy new memory when I buy a DFI.
I'm wondering if one of the "auto" settings that I don't know what they are defaults to a too aggressive value. I'l going to look into this and set some conservative settings to see if I can get to run a lower voltage. My value select is really confusing me because is actually won't run at 3-4-4-8, but will run at 2.5-3-3-8, which makes no sense at all. Somthing else is going on.

Okay, this thread is so long now I can't find the original reference to Corsair memory issues. What is the original problem? I'm running Corsair PC3200 CAS2.5 Value Select 2x512MB right now on the DFI (slots 2&4), with all auto settings in BIOS (I have no idea how to tweak those settings, so I'm leaving them alone for now), but have yet to encounter any problems. Can someone clue me in?
