Oh, but the top is the dash board is plastic. I just could never be seen in a car with the top of the dash board being plastic.

The shame. All my neighbors will push on the rear bumper and see that it gives under pressure and I'll laughed out of the neighborhood.

But it's domestic, it can't be any good.

You should tell that to all us Z06 guys at the track passing BMW's, Porsche's (turbo's and GT3's) and just about anything else. The only time I was passed the last time I was at the track was twice. One pass was by a guy with a 650 hp supercharged Z06 and the other guy claimed to have a 750 rwhp Supra. He didn't get me in the corners, but he did get me on the start/finish straight.

I agree that the interior is a little cheap, but the car is put together well. It's as reliable as my wife's G35 Coupe. It's not your typical domestic IMO.

I do. 😛

With the Ferrari pushing 490 hp out of a 4.3l v8 with an 11.3:1 compression ratio, and a curb weight of only 2900lbs, I think I'll still take the Ferrari, thanks.

I'd take the ferrari even if the vette had 1000hp.

Don't worry, many here know my domestic roots.

I will own a vette before I die. This one might be it.

You must be dying soon then eh? 😛

I'm 47 years old, retiring in 5 years, I better hurry up.

The end is near.

What about that video where the wrx walked all over the z06 then didn't get paid the money he won?
😉

He was being sarcastic btw. Your meter is broken. With a name like Sal I'd be inclined to believe you're some long island italian driving an iroc z with the window half down.
😀

That was a street race. I'm talking about the track (road course). The Z06 is fast in a straight line, but that's not its forte'.

Seems like that, eh? Nahh.. I hate Camaro's. I actually didn't like the Corvette for years until I drove the Z06. I was in the market for a new car and I drove a BMW M3 and the Z06 after someone told me that I should drive it. One test drive did it for me.

I've got an '02 Z28 as a crisis car, but I want more power. MORE POWER!! Mehahahaha

I've been working on the spouse acceptance factor and I figure I can crack that nut in about 3 years. Patience is a virtue. Prices for this vette should be down in the mid $30s by then.

I'd take the ferrari even if it meant I had to lend it to bR once a week.

can't wait to see/hear one of those rumbling down the street...and there might be a good chance that I'll be an ass and blip my measly LS1 at it, just to see the look on his face. 😉

It's easy to tell what happened when all the paint has worn off the downshift paddle. 😱

If anyone thinks that was a photochop, GMInsider had to remove the pic. here is the email

Dear Sir,

My name is Mike xxxxxxx and I'm the xxxxxxx of Broadcast Communications for General Motors.

I've noticed that you have one of GM's embargoed photographs of the 2005 Corvette on your website. Since this image is embargoed until January 10, 2005, I am asking that you remove the image from your site until the embargo is lifted. While I don't expect you to tell me who provided you with the image, I am wondering if you would tell me if you received the image before Noon on Tuesday, November 9.

If there is any confusion regarding usage of GM's embargoed images or if you would like to discuss the situation with me, I can be reached through
email, or by phone at 313-665-xxxx. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Mike xxxxxxxx

You're right, I don't.

Give me an example of a car that has better fit and finish, that is this fast, and costs $50K.

Hey cmon it still has 4 wheels and a steering wheel... 😀

One more thing, the Viper my dad has only 50 were made, against any vette where thousands were made. That makes a difference.
