Depends - on maps like Vacant and Shipment, they are very handy.

ARe you playing on the PS3? I thought your 360 got banned, or did you buy another one?

P.S. Don't become a grenade spammer!

Yeah, the ways it is lacking compared to Halo 3 are in the little extras. The theater mode, the map editor (although there'd be much less to edit in CoD4), the online stats...

In other words, I would like to know also :)

Yeah it's one of the best guns. People bitch up a storm on the CoD 4 forums about it, saying it has no flaws and all that nonsense. It really does have a flaw though - the delay between bursts. That can hurt you if you miss your first shot. It is frustrating when you have lag or hit detection issues. I was up against one guy with a shotgun, and I put at least 4 bursts into him including at least one in the head. He was close enough that all 3 bullets in each burst would have hit him, and it only takes 2 bullets (not bursts) from the M16 with stopping power to kill someone who doesn't have juggernaut. Very frustrating. He walked right up to me and shot me with his shotgun. When there is lag like that I have no qualms about backing out of a game in progress.

Anyway - a lot of people use the M16 with the red dot sight like a sniper rifle. You can pick off guys from a crazy distance. I'd love to see some of my kill cams, because a lot of times you can't even make the guy out in the distance - I just know he's there because I can see his muzzle flash.

Thats what I've been using as my primary weapon so far, M16 w/ Red Dot. Tonight I just unlocked a new scope for it though that apparently increases range adding zoom on the scope. I didn't bother trying it yet, I can hit people quite well already with just the red dot from across the maps :)

One thing that I really like so far is the amount of levels. I've been doing only Team DM and I've keep coming across levels that I haven't played on (I think I just ranked to 15 or 16).

Oh,and I'm not exactly sure what the clan tag does for you, but I made mine ATCG in case anyone else wants to do the same.

ACOG is not great. Stick with the red dot.

I think it puts you on the same team as anyone else with the same clan tag in the same match. I'm a member of a clan for older gamers, but they don't even use the same clan tag. They just create a party ahead of time, which also keeps you on the same team. I set my clan tag to [CLAN], and some kids were making fun of me for that. But their clan tag was [poop]. Yeah...

Not necessarily. I see that a lot and I never throw them back. The moment I see it I just start running and 90% of the time I never get hit. Make sure u run and not walk away though. Or if possible, hide behind something or a wall since you're indoors.

Unless you throw it back right away or run right away, you're pretty much screwed. I've found that running works better than throwing back for me.

I'm so fucking bi-polar with this game online. I played three matches this morning, and in each I got atleast 20 kills and no more than 5 deaths. I get back on this afternoon, and I stare down the barrell of a 3-12 beat down. I couldn't kill anyone. The next two matches I barely made it over 1:1 kill death ratio.

Still fun though.

Anybody else get a little pissed when the other teams shoots down your helicopter, regardless if you're the one to call it in or not? I don't know why, but when I hear our chopper going down, I get a little angry because those bastards on the other team just couldn't take it. :D

I've had the same thing happen. I usually suck a lot more on sabotage compared to team deathmatch on the same maps. It's pretty frustrating.

AND I hate when my helicopter goes down. I mostly get frustrated at myself that I picked claymore over RPGs so I can't shoot THEIRS down when it comes.

its annoying that you can only have one helicopter at a time.

It also sucks to go on a 15 kill streak and not be able to get any more perks without getting killed and starting over.

Mornings or holidays when kids are online and parties aren't big I'm going like 30-7, they don't play very smart. About 5pm EST when the adults start to play and parties are complete I've noticed a very noticeable difference in quality of play. I still might own but it's like 25-12 or if I'm up against a whole clan/party and my team is full of idiots I'll only go a few positive.

I just ask that my team doesn't sit in a corner because if they do, you and your teamates will spawn there and get boxed in. Snipers may have high K/D like going 8-3 but I think they rather hurt your team.

I mean 3 kills, you get radar, 5 kills you get airstrike, etc but it doesn't loop. So once you get a helicopter, you can't get anything else until you die and rack up more kills.

I also don't think you can stack things like airstrikes. I am pretty sure I had an air strike, and then should have gotten another one, but I still only had one.

You can still damage the helicopter with your regular weapon. RPG's just do a lot more damage. If the entire team concentrates on the helicopter, it can go down in less than 10 seconds.

I think it's easier to use LMG's/primary weapons to take out the chopper than RPGs...

Definitely. RPG's are so inaccurate.

This game rocks Halo 3. I've gotten to Captain in Halo 3 and it's just bLEH. In this game, I'm ranked 44 now and I can't stop playing.
My highest killing spree is 24. You guys?

They're not bad when you wait for the heli to hover. My friend and I always try to fire together so that it comes down immediately and not give away our position to the other team. Sending up a stream of LMG fire is a "kill me now" sign.

Oh, ok, thanks for explaining. I thought you were talking about the perks like martydom and deep impact in setting up a custom class. I was starting to wonder if you could change your perks mid-game :).

Wait until you get the chopper (7 kills) then die. When you respawn send the chopper in. This keeps a loop of assets coming in and killing the OpFor.

Other than blocking the pain of massive dying, do you get any benefit from taking down the Heli? I took one down with a well placed RPG shot and didn't see any sort of XP alteration.

I believe there is no other benefit than that...I was wondering if shooting the helicopter positively affects my accuracy rating though.

It just makes life a whole lot easier... especially if you're down flags and can't cap because the heli is just laying waste. There's a pretty early challenge for shooting one down, though, called Flyswatter. I think it's under boot camp and it should be available sometime around level 12. Easy 250 exp for it.

You are correct sir! I just saw that when going through Boot Camp challenges... I didn't happen to get it yet, because I shot down the choppah prior to having the BC challenges.

Anyways, I may be giving up H3 MP guys :)shock;). I'm *really* starting to love this game. I'm up to 15 now and getting the hang of this whole "able to shoot through things" idea. I really didn't think it mattered much, but it does.

Just a little while ago, I was playing on Vacant (Team DM) and my team just kept running at this building's entrance and getting slaughtered. I ran around to the side of the building, waited till the enemies inside shot so they appeared on my radar, and then peppered the wall with rounds, killing 2 guys without even seeing them. It was so awesome.

:D
