Not necessarily. I see that a lot and I never throw them back. The moment I see it I just start running and 90% of the time I never get hit. Make sure u run and not walk away though. Or if possible, hide behind something or a wall since you're indoors.

Nope, that 'throw back' icon just means you're RIGHT ON the nade and must run immediately to get far enough back. If they happen to get that good of a throw, or you run right on top of it... they deserve the kill ;)

Martyrdom, and it's really only useful on Shipment :p

Do martyrdom grenades (and for that matter, regular grenades from you and your teammates) hurt you? Friendly fire doesn't hurt you, but grenades could be different. In any event, I either see the indicator or hear the clink when one of my teammates die and have to bug out, and that annoys me to no end. Bad enough when the other guys do it. If it only got me one extra kill per 3 or 4 deaths, it really wouldn't be worth it to me. Other perks are more useful.

The airplane level is after the game ends, so you can finish the game without doing that level. It was pretty easy on normal, I did it on the first try and didn't even use any of my flashbangs. I can't beat it on veteran. I got about 2/3 of the way through it once, but then I ran out of ammo and got killed before I could take cover.

Yeah, Mile High Club is definitely more difficult than One Shot, One Kill. I got to One Shot, One Kill about 5 weeks ago, couldn't progress and just gave up. On a whim, I fired up COD4 late Tuesday night and made a lot of progress after figuring out a technique outlined below. It's a tie between Mile High Club and No Fighting in the War Room as the most difficult level.

There's a place in One Shot, One Kill where the enemies don't seem to go after you much. If you get onto the bumper car platform, then back up and lay down next to the to the large ticket booth on the side of the platform, you almost disappear from the enemy. Put your back to the booth and lay down so that you're facing away from the booth and looking down the length of the bumper car platform. This has got to be a glitch with the game, because anywhere else that you try and hide in the map you end up being slaughtered and bombarded with enemy fire and grenades.

After that level you should have smooth sailing until you get to No Fighting in the War Room. The only advice on this level is to progress through the level fast and make every shot accurately and deliberately. What I learned about this level and how the game saves took me until my 50th try or so. This level is timed. You have to electronically and remotely disarm the two ICBMs that have already launched before they hit their targets. Since it's timed, you have to hit the game's checkpoints with enough time remaining to be able to finish the level. The game will not let you save at a checkpoint if you don't have enough time remaining on the countdown clock. If you the game would save at a checkpoint regardless of the time left on the clock, it would put you into a unrecoverable save state that would disallow you from beating the level. So, the level can be a little more difficult with the added pressure of the countdown timer.

The last level, Game Over, is easy. Good luck!

Actually, I think I've got that perk in all my slots except for my sniper. I didn't like it at first, but it seems I can a kill from it at least one out of every three or four deaths.

Eh, if you're paying attention enough and you hear the clink clink, its not too tough to avoid in a normal fight.

My problem with it is in tight areas where you just cant avoid it, or when you are sprinting through an area and just happen to walk over some dude who just died who had it. I dont know how many times that second one has happened to me, but its more than a couple.

The only problem I have with perks like Martyrdom and Last stand is that you are basically planning on dying...

Not me! My k/d ratio has been steadily going higher and I never use anything but stopping power/deep impact except for when I'm playing domination/headquarters on shipment.

They are way too powerful though. It seems like they have a 20 foot kill range or something, it's ridiculous.

Perhaps people pair Martyrdom with that one that makes explosions bigger? I seem to think the range is more as well though. Sometimes I just can't sprint away from it after I knife someone.

Shotgun + 3x Frag + Sonic Boom + Martyrdom ... Use that for QCC and see what it gives you ;)

i really wish this game had a theatre mode :(

some of the guys I play with constantly get 25+ kills. i feel like i hardly even see 25 people a match. i'd love to be able to watch how they play.

Since I've started playing and getting the hang of it, I really like the M16. It's accurate and powerful at seemingly any range. If I'm close up to someone, I can put three in their heart with relative ease. Not sure why I'd sacrifice range for a close quarters spray either.

In other words, I would like to know also :)

ARe you playing on the PS3? I thought your 360 got banned, or did you buy another one?

P.S. Don't become a grenade spammer!

Seriously, the martyrdom/sonic boom and last stand perks will only really get you anywhere against bad players in close quarters maps or in game types such as headquarters because if you go up against a good team you're martyrdom grenades will rarely get a kill.

I tried the last stand perk for a couple of matches, and while it sounds like an awesome idea, it never came in handy. I'd always be killed immediately after, or there was nobody around to shoot at, so I wasting my time laying there.
