how could I be so ignorant, clearly a playoff would magically reveal the #1 without a doubt in anyone's mind. there's no chance that some lesser team would fluke through and win or take out a better team during the course of the playoffs, because that never happens...

I'm wondering how you could be so ignorant as well. As if there are no upsets in the BCS? There is NO way to magically reveal the #1. At least with the playoffs, you're deciding everything on the field (even with upsets), and not letting the voters/computers decide things.

Both playoffs and the BCS are imperfect. Playoffs won't magically fix everything wrong with the BCS. However, a playoff system is a lot more fair than the BCS systems and makes every team start out on a level playing field.
 
Not even close. This game barely held my interest as a 3rd party not going to either school. I watched and rooted for Florida because of tenuous Utah connections with Urban Meyer.

BSU/OU was by far a much more entertaining game.

People are going crazy here in Knoxville...and that was the last thing I thought I'd see before I died. SEC made a huge victory over constant bias, and Florida (though I never thought I'd say this) did an outstanding job!

I live out west and havent heard anything yet. 😛 Where do you live that people are going nuts over a Florida win? I feel your pain though man, I hat Florida but I give them props because I hate the Big 10 more.

Knoxville, TN. It's a bittersweet win. We hate Florida from the bottom of our hearts through tried and true breeding...but we love the SEC just as much. It counterbalances, and the SEC winning the national championship takes over...thus, much free alcohol, and horny college girls (though I'm not allowed to touch), for all.
 
good game by florida, ohio state on defense was confusing, they should have tried and blitzed chris leak, they were really slow

Could OSU even beat Boise State? They were terrible, I can't believe they were ranked so high.....

I wish Florida would have played a worthy team.
 
so where do people think troy smith will go in the draft...even if he played a heisman caliber game i would have put him at late 1st or early 2nd round cause he is short and small. Now, against an nfl-like "fast" defense, I doubt he goes until 4th or 5th

i always thought troy smith/brady quinnwere overrated, but then again, I think of the same of most college QBs, even Vince Young 😱

That was their A game, they had plenty of time to get ready for this game and had no chance again FL. They knew this game was for everything, there was nothing they could do vs a team like FL.

That was their A game, they had plenty of time to get ready for this game and had no chance again FL. They knew this game was for everything, there was nothing they could do vs a team like FL.

I hate, hate, HATE Florida...but, as all us SEC fans know, I'd rather see them win than someone from another conference.
