The movie was good, but it did not surpass the first batman with Michael Keaton. Bale is good, so is the new batmobile. The suit looks awesome and is nippleless. Overall the movie was good, not great, and I have a lot of gripes about.
Wtf is Katie Holmes doing in this movie? This is supposed to be a dark movie, not an extended episode of Dawson's Creek. The fight scenes were terrible. Well, they could have been good, but they were so clumsily shot that I couldn't even tell what was going on in them. I couldn't tell who was fighting who, where batman was, anything. The camera work was like something I would see on Jerry Springer during a fight. The plot was kind of convoluted and not in a good way. IMO there wasn't much of a villain in this movie, sure there was scarecrow but he has his mask on for maybe a total of 30 seconds in the movie and really doesn't have a real presence in the entire film. And don't tell me that Qui-Gon is the villain, cause when he dies you feel almost no resolution. Besides, what happened to scarecrow? Totally unresolved. Btw, did I mention that Katie Holmes doesn't belong in this movie? Nevertheless this movie is good, and miles ahead of the last two pieces of garbage that called themselves batman films. At the end of the film a sequel with the joker was alluded to--um... this was already done, and you're not going to be able to find a better joker than Jack Nicholson. Besides, Clayface would make the perfect next villain. I mean, let's face it, most of the villains in the Batman universe are out of date. For example, the penguin? Come on... Anyways. Final verdict: Good, but not great. I'm just glad that there was no scene in which batman taps his heels together and ice skates pop out. *shudder*
