Bale is by far the best batman. The movie was awesome, probably my favorite movie in years.

Damn it. I had just decided to wait until tomorrow so I could see it for a lower price and actually get some sleep before work. Now I want to go again! :D

I was also at the midnight showing and it was excellent. About 10x better than Ep III as far as movie of the year goes.

The movie was good, but it did not surpass the first batman with Michael Keaton. Bale is good, so is the new batmobile. The suit looks awesome and is nippleless. Overall the movie was good, not great, and I have a lot of gripes about.

Wtf is Katie Holmes doing in this movie? This is supposed to be a dark movie, not an extended episode of Dawson's Creek. The fight scenes were terrible. Well, they could have been good, but they were so clumsily shot that I couldn't even tell what was going on in them. I couldn't tell who was fighting who, where batman was, anything. The camera work was like something I would see on Jerry Springer during a fight. The plot was kind of convoluted and not in a good way. IMO there wasn't much of a villain in this movie, sure there was scarecrow but he has his mask on for maybe a total of 30 seconds in the movie and really doesn't have a real presence in the entire film. And don't tell me that Qui-Gon is the villain, cause when he dies you feel almost no resolution. Besides, what happened to scarecrow? Totally unresolved. Btw, did I mention that Katie Holmes doesn't belong in this movie? Nevertheless this movie is good, and miles ahead of the last two pieces of garbage that called themselves batman films. At the end of the film a sequel with the joker was alluded to--um... this was already done, and you're not going to be able to find a better joker than Jack Nicholson. Besides, Clayface would make the perfect next villain. I mean, let's face it, most of the villains in the Batman universe are out of date. For example, the penguin? Come on... Anyways. Final verdict: Good, but not great. I'm just glad that there was no scene in which batman taps his heels together and ice skates pop out. *shudder*

Dude knows Tae Kwon Do, has money, dresses in batsuit and beats up thugs. That is not a superhero. This may be a good movie but I don't like people talking about Batman as being a super hero.

He could have been Tigerman, or Greatwhiteshark man, or Raptorman. Instead he's a harmless flying mammal.

Saw it last night - It was awesome.

It does a good job of leaving out ALL campiness that was inherent in ALL of the previous Batman movies. Its darker, grittier, and more serious. Bale's performance was superb.

I'll be seeing this one again :D

Man this movie was awesome

I saw it on IMAX.... man that thing is huge. I thought it was because the screen was so huge I couldn't tell what was going on in the fights but it seems from the reviews thats how they shot it. Only thing I knew about the fight was that Batman/Bruce would win it. I couldn't tell who was falling down, who was getting hit, what was going on. That League of Shadows thing as the ultimate villain totally threw me off, I thought it would be the Wayne Corp CEO, but I liked it.

*Spoiler on a fight scene*

in regards to the fight scenes, anyone else think of a horror/monster flick at first?
At the docks, you dont see how the first guy disappears and you never really see Batman fighting, just a bunch of guys dropping. I loved how they did that...how he's like this scary creature who can engage so many guys at one time.

Random question, when katie holmes was in the batmobile all drugged up, how come she didnt freak out looking at Batman? Also, the little kid didnt freak out when Batman showed up to save him and Rachel.

IMO they must associate Batman with a good guy. while the criminals fear him so they get freaked out.

Those fights where he picks off the bad guys is good, but when he's fighting the ninjas or even the 6 men in the prison yard, its like whats going on?

I wish I could see it. I am up to my eyeballs in work and depart Saturday for a two-week-long business trip to Germany. The movie will have to wait...

Incredible, Outstanding, Phenomenal, Sublime, Amazing, Mind-Blowing, and Fantastic are all phrases which, combined, cannot describe how good this movie is.

YOU. MUST. SEE. THIS. FILM.
