Phone: Feels very nice in hand. Despite being the cheapest high end Android phone, it "feels" like it's the most expensive one. 1/4" too much bezel on the x axis, probably because of Optimus G which doesn't have the soft keys. Uniform thickness and the "glass touch" add the luxury impression. 8.5/10
Display does black better than expected, it is an upgrade over the Nexus. It could use some calibration though. I have yet to do any daylight testing but so far it beat's the GNex, it's a great display. 9.0/10
Speaker is louder and richer in sound reproduction than GNex but not by much. Definitely not audio processor's fault, sound is great with my Sennheisers headphones plugged in. Naked phone's sound will be muted on a flat surface. 7.5/10
Camera is better but we all know that the GNex was an easy target there. I like the new interface but in terms of hardware, other phones do better. 7.5/10.
It's a faster phone in every way than GNex but I don't think the hardware improvements over the GNex fully translate into observable gains, there is some room for software to improve. I did have one random launch force close. There was some micro lag sporadically. Chrome launches fast and that's the only time I will use the word "fast"to describe chrome. Dolphin handles heavy sites much better. I'm a little annoyed with being fully stock though. Need to root now, ads are becoming annoying. Unless I have a faulty notification LED, it appears broken in 4.2, for example handcent doesn't flash, nor do calls or incoming emails. 8.8/10.
Kinda disappointed I wasn't able to snag a 16GB but for the money this is an awesome phone. The counter argument would be that the price doesn't matter if you are stuck with a poor device but that is definitely not the case.
I did not "lose" anything for paying $300 instead of the the usual $500. 9/10
