52 eps for bleach, hummmm that coule be bad, the anime is currently at about Manga chapter 95, the manga is currently at 176, im n ot sure how there gonna fit all that in 22 eps
hey, quality over quantity! lack of excessive redundant flashbacks =
anyway, I just start watching Bleach (at eps 7). Wth: Ichiko is FIFTEEN???? so by comparison Naruto would be like 9?
anyways, I enjoyed the mindless humor, and found her (shinikami) to be a huge turnon
Shinigami, But i think most characters in anime are teenagers because that is the target demographic they're going for. Only when you have really adult oriented animes like samurai champloo, cowboy beebop and what not that you have all adult cast.
yes and no. if you talking about shows like naruto or the law of ueki's, then yes by all means. then there are shows like 2x2 shinobuden or UG ultimate girl are primarily aimed at crowds at least as old as the potential viewers of bebop if not older. the exceptions would be shows like Uta-kata and Evangelion, which attempt to appeal to multiple groups at the same time.
a better guideline is the time frame when they get aired. 'prime time' (around 6:00pm~8:00pm) are mostly for junior high kids or younger or tend to be very mainstream, and naruto is a perfect example. on the other hand, stuff that gets aired around midnight or so are geared toward adult enthusiasts, or otakus. obviously they expect less kids with 'proper parenting' to stay up that late to watch a show.
IMO the reason the main characters are teenagers :
1)people prefer high school girls over older women <in kimura's words : "becauze i dig them high school girls!">
2)many themes originate in mental growth and events surrounding adolescence
3)adults are looking for an escape from their unsatisfactory reality, and school setting is one of many idealizations.
4)just a cliche, think FPS games placing the protagonist in the middle of some freak accident or some experiment gone wrong
