Show me a board that does. :)

Well, the ABIT AV8 support page has a little A64 X2 logo on it... does that count as official? That's my motherboard which I plan on putting an X2 in...

I feel horrible. I ordered the 4200+ Oem at 525 last week, now the 4400+ OEM is availible for 529. Ow wells, its only a little performance increase anyways. But I can't beleive that for just 4 dollars more, I could have had a 1-4% increase in some applications! GRAARRK

Also the DFI mobo is cheaper at monarch if you consider shipping.

Yes. BIOS level 21 supports Dual Core. I'm running an Abit AV8 and a 4400+ X2 with no issues. :)

Actually, I have a fairly early AV8 as well. I've been running it since June last year.

Don't beat yourself up too much.

Just think: Maybe if you had waited instead, you'd be mad at yourself for not ordering when you had the chance.

Ordering now costs more and is annoying, but at least you get it right away. Waiting on pre-orders and such is generally cheaper, but it's also annoying not knowing when you'll get them... so 6 of one, half dozen of the other I suppose.

Just an FYI also, we're still not sure when we are getting ours... so unfortunately, the furstration continues :(

Yes. Yes it is.

What's worse is that I can never get a reliable ETA. if I could at least KNOW when they were comming in, it wouldn't be so bad... but not knowing is a killer. I feel very bad for the pre-order customers when I can't even give them a straight answer.

The moral of the story is that I doubt I'm going to run pre-orders ever again. It's just too much hassle sometimes.

Are you sure it's actually available at that price?

Some of Monarch's RAM prices are high, and my first choice isn't availble with the DFI mobo, but it's still a fairly good deal in terms of price. Personally, though, I prefer to assemble my own system, though. I'd really rather not have some underpaid tech even touch it, especially after some of the things I've read about Monarch.

But hey, no need to feel bad. If you aren't in a hurry and your 4200 hasn't shipped yet, just cancel and order the CPU you really want. :) Even if you are in a hurry, going to the back of the line might not make that much difference. I suspect that most pre-orders will be filled about the same time. A lucky few already have theirs, but I think most of the rest of us will get our CPUs shortly after AMD gets their production line in order, and not before.

Tank Guys

Your web-site now showing retail 4400 in stock, but also says no ETA in shipments. Are you caught-up on your back-orders and shipping new orders yet?

Well, it says in his sig three posts up that he's out on vacation from 7/12 to 7/18 so I wouldn't expect a response from him here, but this is good news indeed. I checked their website and they are taking orders for the 4400+ at $598... Monarch also now claims to have the 4400+ back in stock, but at $654.

I have not e-mail them, but as a pre-order customer, I can tell you that I have not heard that my 4400+ has shipped yet. Since the change to their site was found last night, they probably would have let the pre-order folks know by now.

:(

MONARCH has them for as good of a price as you can find.

Oh cool, I didn't realize they had their retail boxed 4400+'s in stock for close to retail price. Thanks for the heads up. :)

That said, I'm probably still going to wait until I can get one of those motherboards I posted about in my thread earlier. ;)

Those motherboards look sweet. I want to buy my X2 in a few months with one of those AGP/PCI-E boards :)

I had bought this A8V Deluxe and I finally got annoyed with the X2's (hence the Venice "stopgap") and decided to upgrade my system right with a 4400+ and a new generation GPU...I just want to see what the R520 does first :)

Now I can just get the X2 and one of these new mobo's and keep my 6800GT until the first major price reduction comes on the new generation cards and upgrade it when I feel like. I was always hoping that ULI would release this board to us :D

It's odd they haven't fixed that yet. Listing that particular part as being in stock at that price is could create a lot of hassles for them. I wonder what happens when someone tries to order.

If you're putting together a system through one of their combos, you'd better check your total system cost.. Seems that after you add the completed system to the cart, the price switches from $599 to $659 for a X2 4400 retail... Something's not quite right at Monarch..

Edit: It seems that Monarch upped the price to $659 for retailed boxed 4400's :|

I put in an order for a 4400+ at $599 last night and got an invoice E-mailed back. Guess it's time to start crossing my fingers... ;)

Ah, bastards! Oh well, I've decided to wait on my X2 anyways. I want to pay the MSRP of $580 or lower when I actually buy one :)
