In order to qualify for a certificate good for 25% off the sales price of any one Creative product, not to exceed sixty-two dollars and fifty cents ($62.50) off...
you must provide the model and serial number of your Audigy ES, Audigy Platinum, Audigy Platinum eX, Audigy Gamer, Audigy MP3+, or Extigy...
purchase a qualifying Sound Card at some time between March 28, 1999 and December 29, 2004...
Certificates received in this settlement may be redeemed only at Creative's online store at http://us.creative.com

So basically if you order direct from creative you can get a 25% off coupon. I guess it would depend on if they were charging full MSRP on thier website or if they had any good prices. Me, I'd expect them to gouge you. But check it out and see.

hmm. They have a audigy 2 ZS for about $100 so I guess its not TOO bad.

Verify your refresh rate. I don't just mean say what you think it is, but actually use software to verify what the Rrate is in your apps. I'll bet you are only running at 60Hz. Everyone seems to have the same problem with CRTs under Windows XP. I am surprised if you are having the same problem with LCD, but to solve the problem with CRT, download RefreshLock on Google to lock your resfresh rate at each resolution so that WinXP won't force 60Hz. I had the EXACT same problem with Doom 3 because my drivers said 100Hz, but when I went into the game fullscreen it forced my Rrate back down to 60Hz. Took me forever to figure out what was going on, but that was the problem. Try it and let me know how you make out!

How come the display cannot run in SLI mode after I upgrade the nVidia VGA driver from 6.39 to 71.83/71.84?

Please make sure if EZ selector board is set at "Dual Video cards" mode. This is due to nVidia's earlier driver will incorrectly recognize "Single Video card" as "Dual Video cards". In this case, it is displayed in PCIE x16 plus PCIE x1, not SLI mode. Later drivers have fiexd the issue and won't show SLI. Please switch your EZ selector board to "Dual Video cards" mode and install latest driver for optimal performance.

Restate your question, I don't follow it with blog from the FAQ you added? the display does not work in or out of SLI mode, that is the gpu(s). If you are trying to run a display in the wrong port and you don't have all the settings right, jumper, bridge, bios, windows, and nivida tray, you may have had it working untill that update. If you are trying to run 2 displays in SLI more then likely your cards do not support more then 1.

I just figured out that I am experiencing some kind of "artifact" or something like that when I am playing games, but only in FULL SCREEN MODE. For example, when I play Quake 3, Doom 3, Far Cry, even Half Life 2 in window mode everything seems to be OK, but when I run the games in FULL SCREEN MODE, the screen itself begins to "moves" up and down, like some kind of magnethism (I have a LG 1710 17" 12ms LCD monitor) but I dont think that is the problem. It is something more and I cant understand what the f... is it. This only happens when I use SLI enabled.

I created a q3 server playing with bots for about 8 consecutive hours (one entire night), the dedicated server and a client in full screen mode following one of the bots, and the system worked fine, but when I closed the server and client and I tried to watch "The Incredibles CD1" on bsplayer, I had a bad blue screen with e message "the logon process terminated unexpectly, the system has to shut down"

Well this is new for me, I never had a blue screen with this kind of msg before.

Please I need help

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

What OS are you running, if you are running xp/2000(sp 2?) this sounds like the blaster virus at least the last part. That or your HD is corupt in the boot sector ever thing I have ever seen with that message relates to windows(being incompatible with something) or the HD. The blaster virus could also effect overal preformance, I have not personally had it but I have seen several puters with it and it did cause the video to act wierd also, but more a low FPS issue then warpage. Also if your power supply( the mains out of the wall) is not real great, then you may have problems with the monitor(s), since this is transfering between different monitors and styles. I run about a thousand fluroescent lights in my plant and if we patch into the wrong line for remote office equipment the monitors get a really cool looking(well sorta for a minute or two) wave pattern that looks like an out of tune TV. This might now be aparent at 60Hz unless you are not on 60Hz power, try switching to a different refresh rate, check what your software settings are for vsync and such things also both in the games and in settings( I have had some problems with these in several games). Mess with these alittle see if that helps. Also search the video posts if you have not already there have been many discusions about 17" and greater LCD monitior with DVI interfaces and ascoiated problems.

I am currently using the 71.84 drivers. I was using the 69.83 for a while. Thinkin of updating to the newest 71.89's. Just make sure that when you install refresh lock that you install your monitor drivers beforehand. Don't just use Plug and play monitor drivers, because Refresh Lock reads the drivers to determine what refresh rates your monitor is able to run at, so it needs real drivers for your monitor. Be careful to, that you only using Refresh rates that your monitor is speced to handle or you may be able to mess it up, but usually you will just get a black screen if you set your monitor to the wrong rate. Pretty awesome utililty actually, even for those that aren't having refresh issues! Let me know how you make out:)

Hi all. I have a strange problem with my A8N SLI Deluxe mobo.

When I first got it, both ethernet ports worked just fine. But my SATA DVD/CD drive didn't work, so I decided to update the BIOS and chipset drivers. I installed the latest BIOS (1006 at the time) and nForce platform drivers (version 6.53).

The DVD/CD drive works now. Great! But.... one of my ethernet ports stopped working. The Marvell port works fine, but the nVidia one (the bottommost one) no longer works. I'm using the same network hardware (even the same cable) to do these tests, and have (of course) rebooted several times. I've tried uninstalling the device and re-installing it with no luck.

ASUS is no help. They gave up and sent me an RMA. Well, I'm not going to take my machine apart just to get the ethernet port working (and I suspect the hardware is just fine, as it worked before I installed the latest drivers). nVidia is no help either; their website explicitly says they do not support anything but DVD decoders, and to contact the mobo manufacturer.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this problem? I searched the forum archives but didn't see anything similar (though I'm sure I could've missed it).

It's not the end of the world if this port doesn't work, but it's really annoying. And given the level of support I'm getting from ASUS and nVidia, I'm thinking my next mobo won't have anything to do with them... :-(

Thanks,

Carl

Carl,
Did you redo all your settings in the BIOS aftert your update, when you reflash it the settings go back to the as shipped configuration...
Upon last check sometime last night 1004 was still the only offical BIOS the others were betas. Unless they are not updating the auto download.....
I know that the malfunctioning IDE devices were a problem with the a8n but I had not heard of any SATA yet this may have something to do with the BIOS also as you must select your devices. Please post your fullsystem spec so maybe we can figure out what is going on with you, including speeds and port attachments for your drives.

OK, will do when I get home. Is there an easy way to get all that info (maybe a program I can run which will out put everything to a text file)? I can do most of it "by hand" if not (I think :) ).

I went through the BIOS settings after installing v1006 and set everything as I thought it should be. But this is my first PC build, so it's very possible I missed something.

The SATA DVD/CD drive is now working; the only problem I'm aware of is the ethernet port.

Thanks,

Carl

Carl,
I am glad to hear the sata drive is working,
Well the best thing you can do is give all the hardware, and amounts look at my signature link, etc. Some other folks have them in there signature, look up at some of them, the more info the better.

Did you install the nvida firewall with the computer? this is a native feature, for some reason after I installed the update for the chipset I lost my port(or so it seemed) actually it was the firewall they changed something and it no longer worked in the anti-hacking mode as I had it previously set.

I had the same thing happen this weekend when I upgraded to 6.53 and traced it back to that stupid firewall. If you turn it off then restart your machine it should work. I haven't been able to find any mention of this latest probem with the firewall.

I would like to know if anyone has found a way to fix this rather than using windows firewall? (I know that neither are really good, but I like the hardware aspect of Nvidia's). I'm behind another hardware firewall also.

Very interesting. I'll give that a try and report back.

Minotar: I am using 75 - 100 refresh depending of the game and monitor. If I play on LCD well I have only 75 but IN THE GAME IT IS 75, I mean, It is "real" 75 refresh.

I had been browsing looking for similar problems but I found nothing.

My "big" problem is over, I formatted system hard disk and every thing is stable again, with video and cpu OC, but I still having the fuc..ing "shake" problem

Well If you know something else please let me now

Thank you for your help and sorry for my english :/

I have the above mother board. I am running windows xp Sp2

My problem is I cannot get the standby or hybernate function active. The hybernate tab is missing.
Even the stand by button on shut down screen is not active.

Something wrong with the board?

Thanks.

Well no they are not if you can't gett the computer to go into standby, but my question was what are your settings not if they are working. They should be set at s1&s3 for standby to work to its fullest potential. In order for us to help you its best if you post your system specs maybe there is a hardware consideration also. Also are you running xp pro or home and at waht level are you upgraded to .
