One long post (sry), I cant get this rig to post, need any suggestions, i think i have tried everything....
Anyones guess as to why my SLI board won't even post...
I get no video, but power goes to all my accesories, fans, etc.
Here are the specs:
ASUS A8N-SLI Mobo
AMD 64 3400+
1GB generic (VDATA) DDR400 (on 2 512mb sticks)
580W Powmax Demon - PSDE580 - power supply with a 24A +12v rail (should be plenty of power.....no?)
PNY 6600GT
2 80gb IDE drives
1 160gb SATA
4 80mm fans
2 DVD-RW
1 CD-RW
8-10 USB devices
btw the cpu fan is a Zalman cpns7000-alcu, and is connected. CPU is in place correctly, and sli selector card is snug.
My main concern is that somehow my cheap PSU isnt pulling its huge 580W weight.
If this is the case any recommendation for a 400W+ PSU that i can replace it with for under 60 bucks and still allow me to expand to dual 6600GT's later?
I have tried removing all devices, hd connectors, usb connectors, 3pin fan connectors, lan, and tried to get it to post with just a 6600gt, cpu, and ram. No pc beep, nor video still.
Removed all unnecessary USB, HD, fans, etc, so its stripped down to CPU, ram, cpu fan, geforce 6600gt. Still no results still on getting this bitch to even post. I also tried all this with a PCI fx 5200. Then i removed the CPU, tried different ram slots, tried it out of the case. Nothing.
All that i ever get to happen is the monitor powers on as if to display something, then it turns off as if the signal is gone. Same thing happens with PCI and PCI-X gfx cards.
I'm outa options, any clues? Is it the ram? the PSU? the mobo?
