Hats off to you if you got it for MSRP.

I'll still wait until after XXXmas.

Yeah, it'd be nice if someone would review these boards for stability/compatibility purposes, not just "OMG this fvcker is fvcking fast!"

The A8N-SLI Deluxe is slightly less a phantom. I checked my order # on the Novapcs site. I now have a UPS tracking #, but when I ran the number through UPSs tracking service I came up with nothing. I'll give it awhile and try again.
I don't think tracking down a 6800 Ultra PCI-e will be any easier...

i got my tracking number, too. It was in the notes, and it also says ETA is monday, the 13th. However, it's been my experience that most of the time, the ETA is a worst case scenario. While I'm not gonna be surprised if i don't get it saturday, i also don't think it's out of the question that i will get it then, either. I guess it doesn't matter too much to me, since i won't be back home for christmas break till next week anyways. I'm gonna order the rest of my parts when my family informs me that my mobo is in, since i don't want to deal with delays and sitting on $800 in computer parts while i'm waiting for my mobo.

On a side note, does anybody have any idea if 1) a Zalman 7700-AlCu heatsink can fit in the mobo and 2) if crucial ballistix is supported? If not, how about an XP-120 and PQI ultra? I need to pick out this stuff within the last week.

Oh, and, like everybody else, thanks to suave, for saving me $100 and/or several weeks of waiting. It's likely i couldn't even get an Ultra board for this price anywhere else.

Would like some reviews by people with the boards.

BTW... WHAT's TAKING ANAND SO LONG TO GET THE REVIEW OUT????
I have all parts in hand for my build. As soon as I can rip it from the FEDEX guys hand, I will be puttin her together. I'll post my progress/problems ASAP, although I am only adding one 6600gt for now so I won't be able to give any SLI info.

My first problem is figuring out how to connect a 20pin supply to the 24pin connector.

*Edit*
I also got email from Fedex with tracking #, my detail status now shows "picked up by fedex 5:33 pm - Garden City NJ"

I read in a review on the problem about the 20/24 pin. They made an adaptor.

is 24-pin uncommon? I haven't bought my PSU yet, i need to make sure it will work! Also, i can't find any information on dimensions around the socket. I want to put a Zalman 7700-alcu in there, but i'm not sure if it will fit.

wow, 2 days to go....this should be hilarious....i wouldn't be surprised if it's close to $400 by the time shipping is factored in, lol. Man, i've never understood some things about ebay and electronics. It seems like on every auction, the bidding price ends up going higher than the in-store price on most items, and if it isn't, then shipping is like $20 extra and you still end up paying more. Who's gonna pay $200 for an A64 3000+ when you can go to newegg and get it for $140 with free shipping? I have not once found a good deal, after shipping, on any piece of computer or electonics equipment.

Anyways, rich1, yeah, you can use just 1 card. I'm going to do that with my 6600GT, at least at first. If they get really cheap, i might grab another for an extra speed boos later down the road, but we'll have to see. Also, that other PCIe x16 slot functions as an x1 slot in non-sli mode. Oh, and you can go with non-matching cards, too, if you want to use them independently, for rendering separate screens.

Congrats to everyone that got their tracking number. I got my UPS tracking number, and like the poster above, it isn't actually working yet. It probably hasn't even started its journey since it is just standard shipping. I've been looking high and low for one of these since hearing about it back in august or so. I was starting to really worry. I had a hell of a time getting the XP-90 for it. I just managed to get one a week ago. I also had a hell of a time getting an XFX 6800GT pcie to go in it. I got that about 3 weeks ago from newegg in the one day they had it on there, and "only" paid $499. Every part I have been looking to get has been constantly out of stock and rising in price.

And no problem btw, I am just glad I helped make a few christmases 😀

Grats to you folks that had the cojones to order from Nova, I was too chicken! Now I am going to have to wait, so please post updates on your experience with the MB!

I think Novapcs raised their shipping price on Ebay as well for this board. The one or two that went yesterday, I believe, had shipping of $16.75 (which was high and why I bought directly from their website instead of ebay, it was cheaper overall that way). Today, the shipping is up to $18.75. But hey, they are sending us our cards... so thank you Novapcs!

🙂

I'll be testing with 1 gig (2x512) pc 3200 Mushkin I bought from Newegg on their Black Friday deal. It's the kind with no markings whatsoever. :Q I'll report on my results after I receive the board and have some time to test.

I can also test with a Buffalo pc 3500 with the bh5 winbond chips, but that's just a single 512. I don't have 2, and am hesitant to buy more because I don't think you can get the same ram anymore (with the bh5 chips). :frown:

isn't asus one of the better mobo makers as far as compatibility is concerned? As such, i imagine that most quality ram (crucial, ocz, corsair, kinston, pqi, mushkin, etc.) will all work on the mobo. Of course, i could be wrong. I'm gonna just go for the crucial ballistix and hope for the best.

Suave

Hey, my 1st post! I've been lurking the boards for months, and tracking this thread since it started. I ordered the motherboard 1st thing this morning, and received my Fedex Tracking # (it's on the way). I got it for $201 (I checked my credit card online, and that's what was charged). Couldn't have done it without ya!

Thanks Suave... And Hi all !🙂

I believe the 24pin power supplies are called ATX12 EPS they were designed for multi-processor servers. I don't think they are all that rare, but there's not many available models and they are more expensive.
I know Antec makes one 550 true EPS

if you use a standard ATX PSU and a 20-pin to 24-pin converter, are there any problems? The Asus product manual doesn't really mention this at all.
