128GB SSD for $1699!?

I'll take the 15", please. Oh wait...

Seriously, I expected 256GB. Apple is getting supremely greedy.

Yeah, they can keep it. I've got a 500gb HDD in my old MacBook and I definitely use more than 128gb with all my media files, video editing, and dual booting Windows. A sharper screen isn't worth $500 more.

I'll probably end up getting a PC laptop next time around, though my circa 2008 MacBook is still holding okay. Wonder what's a good Hackintosh-able laptop.

That has actually been true for years. Though they may be doing more serious calibrating, or just finally using it as a selling point.

Similar, but it looks like there is OS level stuff happening that keeps it all straight. The Momentus is about having an SSD cache, this is about automating what many of us with SSDs and HDDs do already.

Looking at the picture, yes a full size 3.5" SATA fits in there, the new iMac has a slim edge, but a bubble butt. That plus the blade SSD.

Well, it makes more sense to change the release to around Christmas time. Why annoy people having them buy an iPad for Christmas to see it outdated in 3 months?
