So, it looks like 2K5 and EA NCAA then.

EA did get my money for NCAA though. BTW, I think all of the Sega sports games are coming out at 19.99 and I'm pretty sure the NBA game owns NBA Live (based on 2004). I can't remember for sure though.

From what I've seen it just Football game that will be priced at 19.99. ESPN Basketball 2K5 is preordering at 49.99 and Baseball hasn't dropped in price.

I stand corrected just went to gamestop and Sega has announced that Basketball and Hockey will both be 19.99.

Basketball 2K5

Yup, that's exactly what I did. Now, I just hope that the button configurations are similar or that I can make them similar. :p

WOW, how come it came so early compare to Madden. I guess they want to hit the market first.

not only that but everyone who typically buys madden at $50 will be thinking "why in the world would I pay an extra 30?" then they'll try nfl2k5 and love it, then madden will go down finally :D

In Regard to the madden comment, I hope Madden 2K5 is better then 2k4 was!! Madden 2K4 sucked compared to 2K3 IMHO. The draft in 2K4 was a joke! The scouts sucked.

And for those of us who've owned them all since the Dreamcast, this is a bigger jump than 2K4 was from 2K3 last year! The running game is perfect now. :)

I loved Sega Football!!

I can't remember the last time I played a EA sports game. I have been playing Sega Games since the dreamcast. I think the last EA game I tried was Live 2001 and it did absolutely nothing for me.

Hmm....I love madden, but for $20 I don't know if I can pass this up.

That statement is exactly why Sega is doing the $19.99 price point this year. They know their game can compete, but people are so locked into Madden they don't give it a chance. But by releasing it 3 weeks early and $30 cheaper, people like you may give it that chance, and when the 2k6 lineup is out, you may not go back to Madden.

Smart move on Sega's part. 1 time losses on the 2k5 franchises to build fan base.

I'm very loyal to Madden....too loyal!! I dont know if i can play anything else.

Holy lord did you guys read about the VIP system? Basically, it memorizes the play style of your opponent and allows you to play against the AI of that opponent.

Have a friend you just can't beat? Play against his AI counterpart and practice enough to beat his ass the next time you play. ;)

Picked up the game today... It rocks!

Had this game retailed for $50 and came out the same day as Madden... I'm not sure which I would've chosen, but it probably would've been Madden.

But there's just nothing that Madden has over NFL2k5 that's worth $30. Maybe in a few months I'll get tired of 2k5, and find Madden used for like $20. :)

Exactly. God I can't wait to start playing this game... the screenshots are insane. I know that ss's are typically not representative of the game but hell, even Madden's ss's don't look nearly as impressive.

The review I said mentioned something about league support. I assume that could be read as meaning the same thing for all systems.

PS2 had full league support last year.
This year, XBox version added it. I know the leagues track way more stats than XSN, and the pages look exactly like ESPN's real NFL pages. I haven't tried a league yet, but I think it uses it's own roster too, so you can make trades throughout the season between human controlled teams and it'll carry them over throughout the season. I'm just not sure if you can do more than one season or not though.

That's so awesome. 'TRUE' fantasy football drafts online would be amazing. Draft your fantasy team and play out the week yourself...

Just picked it up for the PS2 today myself. Played one game so far, and am loving it. Running game isn't as lax as last years (which is good) and there's other improvements that I've noticed. Definately enjoying it more then I have the last couple of Maddens.

I know, that's why I'm trying to get as many friends to buy the game too. Or at least get on Live and we can pass a couple discs of the game around so people can get their games in against each other.
If it works how I had been reading about a month ago, with the kind of persistant league that doesn't reset every game, it'll be exactly what I've wanted for a long time!

If I would get off my lazy ass and sign up for Xbox live I'd start a league for ESPN ATOT. I've had a 1 year card just sitting here for a couple of months unused and hell, NCAA came with a free 2 month card also.

If you figure how many hours you could concievably put into it, it really is some cheap entertainment. Definately worth it. Mine auto renewed in January, I used it about 5 hours total since then, and I still know it's a great deal cuz this fall and winter I'll be living on it again. :)
If you start a league, post it here. I'm in for sure.

My Fry's doesn't have the game as of 12PM.

Fry's says they'll honor the $17.99 price until the end of the week.........

It'd be great if the games sold tons and tons based on the price and more and more companies started to do the same.
