The judges should be pushing for Tim to win. Out of the people left, he's got the most money-making potential. If AI history is any indication, singing ability doesn't necessarily translate into record sales.

EDIT: And his wife definitely got him save. They kept cutting to her balling her eyes out.

Mike won't last much longer in all likelihood. Last year, the "save" saved Giraud for what -- a week?

I think we need the ATOT effect to help Timmy next week.

You think the judges were watching the TV monitors and that made their decision for them?
Not. Every wife/gf/relative/husband/bf is going to be bawling now when one of theirs is close to getting the boot.

the voting this week was horrible. I didn't like Michael's at first, then listened back to it after the show--better if you're not watching (just listening to the vocals), but still nothing special, imo.

I could have seen him leaving or not being saved...but I understand it with people like Tim and Aaron still tooling around.

I find Michael's voice frustrating to listen to. Given how big he is and how much 'strength' his voice seems to have on the surface, he's very 'breathy' and his sound isn't very strong outside his comfort zone. Yet the audience acted like the next Aaron Neville was going home. :thumbsdown:

I agree, actually. I think I've only liked one of his performances, the rest is somewhat cringe-worthy to me. Too sappy...and way too corny. Not watching kind of helps.
 
Well, last night was the first time I really liked Michael's performance. Love that Elvis tune...and dare I say that the arrangement was better than the original?! D:

I thought Mike, Crystal, Lee were the top 3. Siobahn seemed to have good control and tone when she started singing "big," not necessarily screaming. But she definitely started off sucking then finished really well.

Aaron and Andrew were the worst (though I didn't dislike Andrew as much as the judges seemed to).

Actually really dug Tim, too! D:
 
Now that Tim has been good, will he still have VFTW behind him?

Ryan's comment about Brian Dunklemen hosting was just wrong.
 
Aaron Kelly should be long gone by now, but the teeny boppers keep him around.

Also, did anyone catch Ryan's (Freudian?) slip about Adam L having a more talented tongue than him. LOL

Anyway, she was freaking spectacular last night. Everyone else should simply give up. I'm sure the little girls will put Casey and Tim in the finals, though, but Crystal really is in that Lambert-like zone where she's simply leagues ahead of everyone else. Fuck it--she should just leave the show now and start doing her own thing. Not get hooked in to the suffocating Idol contract.

I hope it comes down to Lee and Crystal. ....but it won't. 🙁

That's my dream also. I don't think anyone else deserves to be in the final.

Big Mike - hell no.
Siobhan - has lost it.
Aaron - too young, little Archuleta
Casey - my pick for third or fourth
Tim - no comment.
 
During the recap clip at the end they showed Crystal's clip and she didn't cry. This confirms my long held suspicion that the producers use the rehearsal clip instead.

She'll probably still have to sign with the label anyway. They have the option on the top 10 (or 12) contestants to sign them or not, and you can be sure they won't let her go on her own or to another management company.

...and rightly so. They fronted the money for the show and put them up on the stage for everyone to see. I would think that they should have the rights to sign them as well (and prevent others from poaching the talent). After all, it is a business first, talent show second. 😀

As for last night's episode, Tim would have to be the worst. I'm not talent scout or anything but he seemed really bad last night. Out of tune, and generally not very good. However, with the VFTW movement that's going on, it seems like Tim might stick around for a while longer. (BTW, I don't agree with what the VFTW people are doing since it pretty much defeats the purpose of the show but I guess that's a chance that AI takes with how their voting system is set up)

I do like Crystal's chances of winning and this week she cleaned up a bit better than previous weeks but I still don't think she's got that marketable image that all the big hit AI winners have. If she wins, I'm not sure how successful she'll end up being.

FWIW, I think Crystal's kinda cute for what she's got going on. :$

...and British teeth syndrome hasn't hurt Jewel.
 
Lee and Crystal, the first two to be told they're safe and the two that IMO should be contending for the number 1 spot on the show.

Everyone else is just filler until the season ends.
