Chris sang Hemorrhage better than Fuel did...on the album.

Absolutely...I have that Fuel CD and chris, live, sounded way, way better, IMO. I'd buy that single.

Kat should have been booted, plain and simple. She's had crappy after crappy week, and she gets by on her boobs and her looks (she has a good singing voice, but it's not what I'd vote for, and haven't).

I've been torn between Chris and Taylor, and I generally vote for both, and I was totally surprised last night as well....floored, even. At least he's going to get some sort of offer from a major band tonight. Watch Extra (or listen to Ryan's show today).

yea...it is sad. she had one amazing performance with the ella fitzgerald song a few weeks ago, but everything else has been mediocre. she's winning with her boobs.
do people who only care about Kat's boobs really take the time to call in and vote for her ? I mean, I admire her appearance overall (especially when there's just 3 other males in the competition), but I'm not going to spend any time dialing in for that reason alone.

ahhhhh, so NOW the truth has come out. SeaCrust misspoke and gave out the wrong # when he told the viewing audience which # they could use to vote for Chris. it seems fans that called that number found out it was actually Katharines. (i just saw this story on the news with the American Idol clip from Tue. night showing Seacrest misspeaking)

wonder what they'll do about that total flub up that may have cost Chris his spot. American Idol reps have not released a statement in regards to this incident yet.

Well, it will be interesting to see what AI does about that.

Does anyone know the terms/contract that the top 10 AI contestants sign? I have no idea what the contract terms are and if all the top 10 even get a contract or sign over some portion of their rights to Fox, etc.

I'm kinda hoping chris is a free man and can sign with whomever he chooses...but I kinda doubt it.

Did they put the wrong number on the screen, or did he just say it? IIRC the numbers track perfectly the contestants' numbers in the lineup that night, and the outgoing message just says "Thanks for voting for Contestant [number]," so I don't think most people would have any way of knowing they had called the wrong number after the fact.

If they really think this affected the contest I would think they'd reinstate him if at all possible. Another week of AI can only be a good thing for Fox.

Katharine McPhee should resign and save herself and the show what little credibility it has left.

She's going to lose anyway, Taylor is #1 every week, and Katharine has been near the bottom for a while now. She has no chance.

RESIGN!!!

btw, i just checked my recording of Tuesday's show, and I did not see where Seacrest said the wrong number for Chris or that the wrong number was displayed.

Bah - nonsense. I haven't seen the last couple of weeks, but it strikes me she is clearly the most talented of the remaining contestants, and Taylor the least. Taylor is likeable, but he's a hack.

I haven't seen the last couple of weeks, so I can't argue with you. It still seems to me, having watched nearly the entire season, that Katharine McPhee is the most talented competitor, even if she had some missteps. I personally think Taylor has been awful for at least the last month, and it hasn't slowed him down any.

Although I don't personally like Chris or his genre, I absolutely see him as a viable frontman for a band - I just felt and feel that winning AI would, if anything, be harmful to his prospects. Even competing really takes away a lot of his rock credibility, particularly given the kind of music he seems to gravitate toward.

It does shock me a bit that Elliott is still there but Chris is gone.

I personally agree with your comment about Kat...although she flubbed some of her recent song/arrangements, I think she is the most talented.

As far as chris and rock goes...if you don't like rock then you don't like rock. It follows that you would not dig chris that much.

I actually want to hear Chris cover some Cream...maybe you like Cream. Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker FTW!

When did I say I didn't like rock? I love rock, and that's why I can't imagine ever buying an album by an AI contestant. I just don't like, nor can I respect, the kind of soulless, bellowing faux-angry crap rock that Chris and his ilk peddle. That Nickelback school of music is at least partially responsible for the fact that the Top 40 is now dominated by rap.

blah blah blah, i'd offer my opinion on the idols, but most of you will disregard it like i disregard yours.... 😉

read more comments on dialidol.com you do get to read more opinion from every fan of every idols.

i think it is good for chris to be booted, he should be a front man of a rock group, not a solo act like clay aiken. oops.... that's an opinion isn't it?

what rock do you like then?

I was a huge punk fan in high school, and saw literally hundreds of concerts by seminal '80s punk bands like the Misfits, Minor Threat, the Minutemen, Bad Brains, Black Flag, etc., and I still have that sensibility to a large extent. I like a lot of early punk (esp. the Saints and the Buzzcocks, and, even earlier, the Stooges), but I think my all-time favorte rock music is probably the Rolling Stones from the late '60s and early '70s. My favorite current band is Radiohead, by far, but I really like the Flaming Lips, the New Pornographers, Franz Ferdinand, and lots of other stuff. I definitely have no beef with passionate and even angry music - I just resent what I see as completely phony-baloney fake-angry crap like much of what passes for rock music nowadays.

Compared to Chris, Taylor, and Elliott, hell yes.
so you don't see a nice body, a pretty face, and a pair of good sized perky bewbies at all when Katharine is on stage?

what i'm saying is... i think her voice is amazing, but it's all the more amazing and the reason she is still in it is because she is beautiful.

Oh, absolutely. Her presentation is a huge part of it, but her best performances really do give me the chills. That version of "Someone to Watch Over Me" was the best example I can think of - she can be just brilliant.

Yeah, I get that, even if I don't feel that way. That's why I always felt it should come down to Chris and Katharine. I wish I'd seen the show over the last couple of weeks, because I gather many people feel this was unfair, and that Katharine deserved to go - that wasn't the state of things I saw when I last watched it.

I think the point wasn't that you don't like rock (it was easy to infer this from posts), but that you don't like Chris' genre... or, in your own words...

I just don't like, nor can I respect, the kind of soulless, bellowing faux-angry crap rock that Chris and his ilk peddle.

Chris clearly deserved to b e there in the end imho.

i really had it for her too, but it's been kinda blah the last few weeks.

At any rate, for anyone that didn't catch it, yes, Fuel offered Chris a spot. I believe based on the whole contract thing with AI, it very well may have been in Chris' best interest to be kicked off, as I don't know that he'd have the opportunity he does now.

I imagine we'll here something from Simon (or perhaps not, as Simon looked about as flabbergasted as everyone else last night).
