Karaoke is the singing of someone else's song without actually playing the music yourself, right? Isn't that what they do on that show or did they start doing originals?

Actually, I have never seen this 'Simon' say anything on that show so it's not like I'm taking his words and making them my own. (the irony!) 😛 The previews of the show make it look like glorified karaoke. Hell, at least people who are singing cover songs at the local bar at least have to play the instruments as well.

these are much better than bar acts for the most part. you should watch it and be better able to judge.

I think the real contenders are Chris Daughtry, Kelli Pickler, and Katharine McPhee. We shall see . . .

actually, simon said she was better than Underwood. and the one performance i heard from underwood on this show (she did a guest performance this season) wasn't anywhere near as good as kellie song tonite.

she definitely has a shot at winning, i don't think she is the best vocalist, but she has potential to win.

bah, i don't think kellie should win. her airheadedness/never left NC'edness is getting to me. they're backhandedly mocking her "so kellie, learn anything new this week?" remarks, etc.

she's more entertaining than carrie, because carrie doesn't have that over the top personality kellie has, which is probably why simon likes her. i just don't think she's smoothed out enough to get to how good carrie is.

kellie picked a really good song for her this week. it fit her voice well.

I don't know, he's got by far the largest fan base on Idolonfox.com forums. I think he has a good shot.

It's interesting we can finally agree on something!

If I can temporarily put aside my crush on Katharine McPhee, I'd like to see Taylor win. Although I think Chris is talented, I hate hate hate his genre of angry-young-man-with-a-rock'n'roll-underbite, Nickelback-esque, soulless crap rock. Taylor at least makes music that has some flavor and emotion. I just can't imagine kids (who, let's face it, are the target market for American Idol) buying Taylor's records under any foreseeable circumstances.

If it's true Katharine is pregnant (which would indeed make some sense), it will certainly add a dramatic wrinkle. If it's Kevin Covais' kid, I am going to shoot my TV like Elvis.

i actually agree with you 100%.

there is a rumor going around that McPhee is pregnant. i must say her last two outfits did look something along the maternity line. maybe that is why her boobies seem to be getting bigger by the episode too.

i think Pickler is going to win it all, and Daughtry will go on his merry way like Bo Bice did without those American Idol contracts. Daughtry is by far my favorite overall, but yet i hope he is only the runner up.

I called McPhee preggers a few shows back!:shocked:

she can REALLY REALLY sing unlike the other two bottom 3 (namely kevin and bucky) but she doesn't have a contingent the way the other two losers do.

if i'm wrong and either kevin or bucky get the boot, i'll be pleasantly surprised, but i just don't trust america's taste.

The 50's theme just didn't work. Most of the song choices were boring and most of the performances were simply ok. One of the worst episodes this season, IMO.

Even Chris let me down. I like what he did with walk the line, but it was a little too low for him.
