Where are the Alias discussions?! ;)

Anyway, I'll get you all started. RE: Last night's episode.

**SPOILERS** **SPOILERS** **SPOILERS**

That photo that Nadia borrowed from Sydney (a photo of their mom holding a baby) -- towards the end of the episode, Jack finally explains to Nadia who the baby is: it's Irina's niece (so it wasn't Nadia or Sydney).

Now, last season, we found out that Irina Derevko has two other sisters. Ekatarina and *unknown*. Who's child could that be, then? Ekatarina didn't really mention her daughter last season, nor did she really imply she had a daughter. My understanding (if memory serves correct) was that Ekatarina is the youngest sister. Not that this has anything to do with it, but she'll most likely, not be the person who bore that child. So then it'll have to be the other unnamed sister of Irina Derevko. This means, that Sydney and Nadia have a long-lost cousin... Could this cousin be in the intelligence industry as well? Or is she/he already implanted within some agency somewhere?? Does it matter?

:)

Didn't Jack say that Irina told him it was her niece? I got the feeling that he explained it so that it was Nadia in the picture.

So, Irina was lying to Jack about the true identity of the baby? I mean, that could've been Nadia? But If I recall, that photo was before Sydney was born...

Yes. The photo was taken before Sydney was born. So now I'm confused all over again.

BTW...if anyone saw the first episode this season, you might have seen a japanese warrior costume in the background, behind the sword that is to be stolen. I recognized it right away because its one of our props and currently in our lobby.

Did you guys see tonight's episode?

It sounded like Irina is still alive - "We need to move on with our plans"

Yup, I had a feeling she wasn't dead yet. That, or they're grooming someone who will "pose" as Irina.

Did anyone else feel they were robbed with that anti-climactic episode conclusion? One (fake) explosion and then they didn't even show the extraction (just the plane ride)...

BTW, Alias comes back in 2 weeks -- I'm guessing 'cuz of the Superbowl hoopla. +_+

Yeah I agree with RaDragon.

And it's nice to know I wasn't the only one duped with last season's finale.

Meh -- the episode was ok. I'm not a man, so I didn't really appreciate Zim's excitement for "3 hot chicks" :p

Next week's episode looks interesting, though. Anna Espinoza and Julian Sark are baaaack! :D

Does anyone else think that Sydney's sister needs to die. They make her out to be Syd's equal but she isn't, in any regard. She is not nearly as attractive. And you expect me to believe that some South American orphan that worked in a Russian mental ward and then retired could keep up with Superspy Jennifer Garner? She needs to die, badly.

I have a feeling she won't die. At least, not this early in the season.

PlatinumGold -- I read somewhere that J.J. Abrams (the creator), although he wanted to bring the show back to its roots, he didn't want to convolute the story with too much Rambaldi stuff, hence the decrease of content with regards to that storyline. However, IMHO, that's what some of the fans have been clamoring for -- and he isn't serving us much.

I'm not too keen on these self-contained episodes. Gone are the days where there'd be a cliffhanger at the end of every other episode that really made you look forward to the next one. So tonight's episode was kind of like a cliffhanger, but we all know that Syd's sister won't die (at least, she might appear dead, but she'll be brought back to life -- a la Slone)... No one is dead in Alias... No one (except maybe for Syd's fiancee and best friend) :D
