In no way is this Wake's fault, ALL Grady :brokenheart::brokenheart::brokenheart:

Yeah, the WS is going to be boring as HELL!!!

Hey mabye the Bruins will win the Stanley Cup,........... But nobody gives a sh!t about hockey in Boston anymore so untill it gets cold in hell.......:brokenheart:

Leaving Pedro in was a mistake, but to think Wakefield could shutdown the Yanks a 3rd time is a bigger one.

I don't agree... Wakefield was not a bad decision, he would have outlasted everyone in the Yanks bullpen if it got down that far. He was well rested and the only person better to bring in would have been Williamson, who would blow his load after only 2 innings...

I'd take my chances with Williamson cause the Yankees didnt have anyone after Rivera... Weaver? gimme a break.. Contreras, he pitched the day before. Gabe White? Eeek.

The Red sox had more people to choose from Suppan, Arroyo, Williamson, Wakefield. Wakefield would have been my last option. You couldnt ask for anything more than two wins from Wakefield.

Here's the thing. Bringing in Wakefield for relief is not smart. He's a knuckleballer who is always shaky in his first inning, he needs to adjust. He was a failure as a reliever for that very reason.

What can you buy with 75 mil? Let me count thy ways... They should have a Mastercard commercial with Steinbrenner in it:

House in the Hamptons with waterfall: 32 million

New Bentley: 450K

Payroll of highest paid franchise: 180 million

Barely winning the ALCS against a team that spent 41% less $? Priceless!

Blue Jays come first.

But, I've been a Yankee fan for quite some time (since about '93...my first visit to the Big Apple.)

DYNASTIES SUCK WHEN THEY ARE FUELED BY CASH NOT PASSION.

Did you watch Game 7? Did you see that comeback in the last three innings? Was that not passion? $$$ was not the main motivation in Giambi's performance, or in Rivera's performance, or anyone else for that matter. They played because they love the sport. A million + salary is nice, but with all the games they play, training, regular season and post-season, $$$ is only so important. Ask anyone in any profession: if you hate what you do, your best performance lasts a short period before the pressure grind kicks in, and if you're only lukewarm about your profession, then the eventual downward spiral is much longer.

The Yankees are not indestructible; the last two years proved that. A high budget does not guarantee performance. If you're a Cubs, Marlins, BoSox, Yankees, Mets whatever fan, great, root for that team. But spare yourself nonsensical comments like the one above. Quit looking for red herrings.

That could be true... although Williamson could only last for two innings... maybe one more than Wakefield pitched... who knows? Then bring in Wakefield.... Either way Grady is on the chopping block....

Are you clueless? I can help you out: Higher $ = higher level of talent. It's not that hard. We can equate it to, a pinto can go zero to 60 in 20 seconds, and a Ferrari in 2.3... lol
Who ISN'T PASSIONATE to make it to the MLB???

so many second guessers after the fact... Wakefield was the best pitcher at the time, he shut down the Yankees the other times he pitched. You can second guess all you want, that was the right call. Williamson blows, he has no balls, remember game 5 of the Division series against the A's? Walking the first two hitters of the ninth? The only other person that I would have had confidence in would be Lowe, but his ass was already used up.

Wakefield's been inconsistent except that one year his whole career. Unless Williamson pulled a Derek Lowe and started blowing saves left and right like Lowe did that one year, I would take Williamson 10 times out of 10.

He was responding to the comment that they are not passionate about the game and are only doing it for the money.

Best thing about Yankee's beating the Redsox, is hearing the Redsox fans crying themselves a river

I'm not a sox fan but its a national irritation.
