You know what bugs me? The run-up in Dogecoin, and people buying it thinking that it's going to make them rich.

They're missing the point... Dogecoin is supposed to be a meme coin that makes fun of people who were hording altcoins in an attempt to recreate the Bitcoin wealth boom. Most of the original Dogecoin holders got the joke, and understood that the only thing that 1 Dogecoin is worth is... 1 Dogecoin. That's it.

Dogecoin is basically a lesson in the economic truth that increase in the money supply means inflation.

Ive decided to throw SAVA on the keeper pile no matter what. If it gets put to me at $20 (cost basis $17 basically) I'm going to hold.

SAVA is the ultimate lottery ticket. If they develop a way to treat Alzheimer's that stock will reach the next galaxy.

I'm never going to bet against science but alzheimers is a bitch of an indication for development.

Got into $APHA when it hit $15 this morning on the way down, paperhanded my way out of it in mid $17's... was originally thinking I would hold it a while but I haven't been reading up on cannabis plays as much as I should. With a long weekend coming, I talked myself out of it.

But hey a win is a win... been getting better at actually taking plays this last month or 2 and has been working well. Basically been identifying stocks I'm interested in, identifying entry point, setting max loss point and then buying shares when price dips down to my entry.

Focusing on my max loss and being good with it up front has really enabled me to take a lot more plays. $CLOV is one I'm really looking at going in for a big play if it drops a little bit more... I have a starter size on now, but really wanting to be able to average down on this one.

My best position (% gain wise) I still hold is $CPSH, got in at $18.15ish, it's at $22.40 as I type out this post. It has teased $24 on me but I haven't sold a single share as I'm waiting for that break of $24.

I picked up some blockchain stock MARA (Marathon Patent Group Inc). I didn't know this was a thing, but it seems like a cool way to get crypto exposure on the market. As always, I don't know what I am doing.

"Marathon Patent Group is a patent holding company that is the parent of Uniloc, known as a patent troll company.[1][2] Marathon purchased patents related to encryption in the 2010s[3] and in 2021 it was known for its purchases of bitcoin[4] and bitcoin mining equipment.[5] "

This was another one I paperhanded my way out of... had an average of $18's and sold in the $19's because it didn't seem to be following BTC closely enough for me. I had belief in BTC but not as much as $MARA, so when it became disconnected (from the times I was watching it) I lost confidence.

And yep, another expensive lesson for me... however I'm in it for the long haul... so just on the hunt for the next one.

Hence the term "lottery ticket".

But if they can truly stop the progress of the disease until the person dies of something else that would be a magnificent breakthrough. That's all they need to do.

I'm no medical researcher but the word "cure" when it comes to Alzheimers is not a possibility at this time.

Penny stock Rolls-Royce booming today. 120 percent gain as of now.

strange. their financials are terribad and they keep loosing contacts and nobody is building/buying airplanes for a good while, O&G is not increasing gas compression capacity for a good long while or building lots of new fpso capacity either.

as long as apha stays around half of tilray, its a buy as you will gain at the merger. im holding both, should have bought more at 15 this morning. setting a buy for 15 if it hits that again soon.

Anyone into Bumble (women focused dating app)? It is up over 60% from its IPO price. I think there are too much well known competitors such as Match and such.

Really want back into Twitter under $50. Sold a put, rolled it to another at a profit. Maybe if I can pull that off 10 times I can buy in at current prices and pretend my cost basis is lower.

I think it could be interestingly effective.

Anyone in $O?

Iven been to zero a few times. The fastest way to zero is:

1) Being long options with all your play money (if there is a such a thing), ie "YOLO".

2) Writing bad spreads that wipe you out overnight (or even go negative intraday). In 2015 Google was upgraded and the stock popped 8% the day before earnings. I figured thats all the stock would gain, even with a good earnings report. I had $2,500 in an options trading account and wrote an 80x80 QQQ credit spread expring in 24 hours hoping to score a $1200 payday (50% return).

The next day Google rallied another seven f-ing percent, causing the QQQs to rally about 4%!!! Had I simply been long the short leg, I would have turned $2,500 into $18,000 overnight!!! Instead the account opened down $2499 and then went BELOW ZERO to negative $1700 as the short leg went up much faster than my long calls. I think I closed it out around negative $100, and had to get the broker to enter the trade since the system could not handle a negative equity option entry. That was a lesson I have not forgotten how about how dangerous short term spreads are.

3) Trading bankruptcy stocks.

I have a small stake in O. I like that it is a monthly dividend payer and has down well for me so far. It is still 25% off its highs and even though it rents to some movie theaters (Regal and AMC) and gyms, most of its tenant aren't affected by COVID (Dollar General, Walmart and Home Depot).

I had this idea last year I'd start collecting O for when I retire but that's on the back burner now. I'm just waiting for it to be called away at this point. I collect like $120 a month.

I wasn't happy at all with their latest offering release. Ostensibly it was to acquire new real estate but it was non-binding, leaving open their option to use the money on "corporate expenses". I have a feeling that's where it's going.

There's a lot of controlled volatility in O since I've owned it. It jumps back and forth between $58 and $65. That makes for good options profits. I make more selling options on O than from the dividend.

Interesting. So it might be a good one to wheel (triple income strategy) vs hold? Maybe I’ll enter a position with a $60 CSP.

I normally would sell both puts and calls.

Lets say O was at $59. I would sell puts at $55 or $56 and calls around $63 or $64. I usually didn't have to go very far out to get a good price, maybe 2 months max.

iirc correctly I never had to buy back or replace the puts. I believe I had to buy back the calls and sell higher ones once.

I don't sell puts anymore.

what happens if a spac does not make a deal? as they have no revenue stream, the stock goes to 0?

or they just keep leaking to some idiot on youtube (or lots of them) that they are "about to make a deal with XXX" in perpetuity?
