**Official 2017-18 NFL 'Bleak without Zeek' Week1 Thread**

Ahh -- welcome to a brand new season! I Love it. I know it doesn't kick off yet, but here in the opening thread!

There are no bones about -- I hate the Cowboys, and Zeek has been playing with fire lately this offseason. Now he has to pay. Six games. Sure the 'boys probably don't need him that much. Dak will likely be as deadly as he was last season behind that Oline.

Reminds me of the Denver Broncos' blocking scheme in the sense that you could literally plug any RB behind it and he looks like a pro-bowler, from scrubs like Ruben Droughns to Clinton Portis.

Without further ado, place your picks!

And we NEEDED to resign Stafford. It was a no-brainer. Either that, or swap QBs with the Bears!

The first few games we'll see who Dak really is. It's pretty easy to have a good passing game when you have a running game like Zeke was leading last year.

Hey, where's Denver's game? I think it's on Monday night as well.

Alright, let's try some picks...

I have to call you on that Raiders remark. I don't think they are at all looking "scary good". Classic step-back pick. Carr is slated to fall back to earth a bit. I could be wrong because they were building something over the last 2 years and we did see them get better.

But everything seem to come together all-of-a-sudden. I give them 10-6, or even 11-5 at best. Will make the playoffs and probably win a game if Carr is healthy.

Well at least for this week I maintain my pick. Titans shouldn't be that good either.

P.S. "Scary good" means I'm afraid they'll be better than the Broncos. They went, what, 9 and 7 last year?

I don't remember their record. Raiders will be better than the Titans as it now stands.

They had no choice. It was a good move. A smart move. I don't want to be the Jets, Bears, Broncos, Jags, Texans, Dolphins, Browns, Rams, etc -- teams that have NO QB and NO SHOT. At least we have a top 10 guy signed forever, basically. He's not going anywhere.

lmfao, Parker is still a hack i see...

Very excited about football returning. Especially college.

C'mon Giants and Denver!

Zeeks suspension seems to be bullshit. There are texts saying that they want to extort him for money from the ex and another. There is zero evidence, her injuries do not line up in the time.

There should be a zero tolerance policy to domestic assault. There should actually be proof of this before punishment. He is not even being criminally charged because the cops said not enough evidence. Yet he is going to be suspended? Bullshit. Yes I know he has made bad decisions before this fiasco.

I don't recall him ever saying he is innocent, though.

You do understand that the disciplinary system of the NFL has nothing to do with the justice system. There is no need for "beyond reasonable doubt" when your employer makes the rules. They can suspend someone for abusing alcohol though alcohol abuse isn't illegal, and be well within their rights.

Yes, I do understand that. You also did not bold the more important part, "because the cops said not enough evidence". Not everyone gets in front of the camera, he has a spokes person who made a statement.

So for you its fine if a woman makes a completely baseless claim on a player, and they get suspended? There should not be at least some evidence, some proof?

I am all for punishing players who beat on women, there is zero room for that. And punishing them severally. In this case however, there is texts that clearly show the woman who made the claim, trying to blackmail him. That she said she will "ruin your life". The facts in this case, do no back up her statement. Which is why there are no criminal charges.

It really irritates me when people put words in my mouth. How does "the NFL's disciplinary system has nothing to do with the justice system" translate to me being OK with a player getting suspended because of a baseless claim?

I don't know if its baseless or not. What I'm saying is that you DO NOT NEED a criminal conviction to suspend a player.

Yeah, me too. Nowhere did I say that the NFL needed a criminal conviction. I understand that they dont. I simply said it was bullshit, especially based on what we know. I also asked you a question, I did not claim that you said it. See the question mark at the end? <----

Is anyone interested in tracking picks across all 16 weeks? I can keep a list of picks and see who the ultimate pick master is here.
