2nd trade: You're gonna need Maclin since he's clearly better than all of your other receivers. I wouldn't do it, especially with JC out for the year - it means more passes will be funneled to Maclin. Dez is a big question mark, and even when he does come back he'll have Weeden or Cassel throwing to him. Screw that. The only advantage Dez has is red zone looks, Maclin will get as much if not more volume. On a related note, I'd drop Aiken and pick up LaFell. No need to have both Smitty and Aiken on the same team. Flacco is subpar this year.

Why are you so sure it means that? Why not to Kelce? How do you know they won't run West/Davis just as much as JC?

talk about a crutch argument

It's not a secret that JC was the top pass catcher, so it's not a secret that analysis on most major sites agree with me. E.g.
... Maclin can only benefit in terms of targets with Jamaal Charles (knee) likely done for the season. He remains an every-week WR2 with a very safe floor in PPR.

The week before:
Maclin continued to dominate targets in this one, seeing 14 while Chris Conley and Travis Kelce tied for second on the Chiefs with seven targets apiece. Maclin has returned WR2 value and then some through four weeks, and at the quarter pole is on pace for 112 catches, 1,592 yards, and four touchdowns.

Maclin is a WR2 target monster who is getting double Kelce's looks and it's clear KC is force feeding their big money man.

PFF also had him at a 64 rating (in receiving only) in Game 1, 70 G2, 74 G3, now it's been 78 for the past 2 games. He's simply playing at a higher level now vs the first couple of games. Furthermore, he's #5 in total snaps among all WRs only behind DHop, Megatron, Cooks, and Tate; he's #5 in targets ahead of Antonio Brown and tied with Beckham/E.Sanders (and his catch% is 10 and 4 points higher than them as well).

KC is going to play to their strengths which means even more looks to Maclin and probably Kelce as well. Reid even said that you can't expect West/Davis to replace Charles.

The bottom line is that Maclin is his best WR, and to trade him for Dez on team with a shaky QB at best is the mentality of a loser. Especially considering the production you will get out of Maclin in the weeks (2, 3?) more that Dez misses while Charcandrick and Knile get up to speed as starters.

Some juicy options on DFS sites this week. The Cincy and Jets stacks were way too cheap to pass up at the price, people still aren't buying in that Dalton is for real so use that to your advantage. Lot of Thursday game players are gonna get burned paying $9,200 for Julio methinks.

Andy Dalton @ BUF $5,700
Mark Ingram @ ATL $6,000
Chris Ivory v WAS $5,100
AJ Green @ BUF $7,600
DeAndre Hopkins @ JAX $7,700
Brandon Marshall v WAS $7,100
Tyler Eifert @ BUF $4,900
Willie Snead @ ATL $3,300
Lions v CHI $2,500

Andy Dalton @ BUF $5,700
Devonta Freeman @ NO $7,000
Chris Ivory v WAS $5,100
Julian Edelman @ IND $7,600
DeAndre Hopkins @ JAX $7,700
Kendall Wright v MIA $5,200
Antonio Gates @ GB $4,600
Charcandrick West @ MIN $4,000
Jets v WAS $3,100

Any thoughts on picking up Christine Michael this week since he's starting next week? I'm rolling with:
Peterson
Forsett
Gore

Bench
Crowell
Rawls
CJ Anderson (FA pickup yesterday)

I was thinking about dropping Rawls as Lynch supposedly back. I'm somewhat hesitant just because those hamstring injuries can linger. Crowell would be alternative as the Browns run game is struggling, however as pass catching back he does have some value. I figure CJ is strictly a flier, maybe the game vs. the Browns will finally give him a jump-start? Ultimately I need one of these guys to perform so I can use them for trade bait for a #2 WR.

Crow is putting up high end RB3 numbers so I'd keep him as he's a completely realistic Flex. At this point I'd take the chance on Michael over CJA as both have similar upside but the later has put up 5 straight lousy games.

This is a tough choice. Let's go through your options if you want to take a flyer on C-Mike.
1) Crowell - Has been playing great the past few games, especially in the receiving game due to game flow. He's actually outperforming Duke Johnson a bit in the passing game, but make no mistake that Duke's snaps have been rising for the past 2 weeks. Last week, it was 56 to Crow's 35 and about 20 more the week before. One thing to note is that Crow is a slightly better pass blocker than Duke who has really fallen off since the first 2 weeks. Yet with Robert Turbin in the mix, not sure how much longer Crow will hold value if this becomes a 3 headed monster and Turbin is successful.
2) Rawls - has been a very good rookie and could eventually supplant Lynch next year if he keeps up the performance of his past 2 games. A better pass blocker than Lynch while almost as good in the rushing department. The problem is that we don't know how Carroll will split the two's production until this week. I'm guessing beast mode gets the majority of work so Rawls could be rendered as a C.O.Pace back with 8 rushes or less. Aka a handcuff. But Lynch isn't a spring chicken anymore, Rawls is one of the best 'cuffs in the league.
3) CJ Anderson - While his rushing performances have gotten worse since week 3, part of it belongs to the Denver Oline which is PUTRID. Only Even Mathis is performing at a high level, but the rest of the line is folding like a cheap lawn chair when run blocking. Here's my take on this - Kubiak loves to run the ball and turned around a beleaguered Ravens oline into one of the best in the league. Eventually the cream will rise to the top, although it's hard to say if Kubiak can get blood out of a stone that is the previous regime's oline. With Denver having the best D in the league, it would be huge to own one of these RBs because they can institute ball control offense with the lead. Hence I'm willing to wait a few more weeks on Hillman/CJ because IF they do get it together by midseason, it will reap benefits for the running game very similar to the Seahawks formula. While CJ/Hillman are no beast mode, Kubiak is a fantastic coach who won't allow this kind of rushing performance if he can help it. Long story short, I think if you have the roster space, hold on to the Denver backs for a few more weeks until the first game out of the bye as the true litmus test vs the Packers in Denver. If the rushing game shows no promise, then I'd unload them. I'm willing to give a leash since it's K's first year and his running game track record dominance is proven (Ravens w/Forsett, Houston w/Foster, Broncos with Terrell Davis).

In short, CJ Anderson currently has the least value from a performance standpoint but that could change if the oline can turn it around under a great coach who wants to run. Crowell will have less value since Turbin make his debut this week. Rawls is a very talented handcuff but may not get much work. I think dropping Crowell is your best bet.

Zach Ertz or Jimmy Graham this week? What do you guys think? Jimmy has burnt me this season.

Pick 3

Odell Beckham Jr.
Calvin Johnson
T.Y. Hilton
Keenan Allen
OBJ has the best on paper matchup, then Keenan on paper + most likely game flow (assuming GB will be winning in accordance to the huge spread). New England/Indy has a 10 point higher Over Under so it's a no brainer to start T.Y. with Luck back. Detroit/Chicago also has the lowest Over Under of all 4 games so sit Megatron, and he hasn't done anything all year to boot. Wait til he gets on the same page with Stafford which will eventually happen, that oline is awful. 1st world problems with these WRs.

Philly has a bad history against WR1s this year. Philly also does very well on defense otherwise. Odell has to have a good day for the Giants to win. Sadly, the Giants need to establish a running game for that to happen so it is unlikely.

Keenan Allen is probably a better option.

No comment otherwise.

hmm, ellington or rawls this week?
Stillers up front are currently top 5 Run D according to FO, but Cards are top 3 Run Blocking. Hmm, immovable force meets unstoppable object. I like Ellington's chances if he gets to the 2nd level vs shitty Pitt LBs, Pitt's teeth are up front on that line. Rawls, seattle run blocking vs Carolina Run D are both middle of the pack. With Kuechly back, it's going to be tougher to get a big run off. Predicting who will get more touches is anyone's guess so I'd bet on the team with a better line and more overall weapons, i.e. cards/ellington over hawks/rawls.

Killed it this week, highest points in 2 leagues (knocked off the first place guy in 14 man) and won 12 man without even having to use Bradford tomorrow night. Solidified first place in 10 man league despite Maclin's concussion, hope he's ok.

Having Denver in all 3 leagues is nice, although the loss of Shane Ray kind of sucks (4-6 weeks out with an MCL injury). Denver will get Demarcus Ware back off the bye week which I have St.L filling in for bye week 7 + GB week 8. Defense wins championships. ;)

lupi, looks like both Ellington and Rawls were busts but hopefully you at least started Ellington and got 5 points vs 0.8.

I have 2nd highest,160 in a ppr league that averages 120. But I went up against a monster lucky team that has 180 with more players.

Freeman, keenan Allen, matevis Bryant. Oslen, forsett. Just got whooped.

Still 1st place tho.

That's rough, happened to me 2 weeks in a row so don't feel bad. I think I'm 2-3 with 4th most points scored out of 14 full PPR, but after scoring the most points this week I'm about to avenge those losses with Dez/LaFell on the bench. Once they come back that league is mine.

Ironically (regarding your loss yesterday) in the league I'm in first, I have Freeman and Olsen. To think I almost traded Freeman for Karlos Williams (pre-concussion). Freeman is WW pickup of the year, and I was thinking of handcuffing him with Coleman since ATL is a top 3 run blocking team so far. I have Karlos in another league and have him in hold mode until he gets healthy, mainly due to lack of better options on the WW (very deep league). He was about to steal Shady's job until yesterday's good performance. It may be a thunder and lightning type scenario (like Cincy) when he's back; there are points to spare for both backs in BUF's run-heavy scheme.

I have both Greg Olsen and Antonio Gates on my roster. If I trade one of them, which should I trade away?

Greg Olsen - 24 - 374 - 3TD through 5 games
Antonio Gates - 18 - 187 - 2TD through 2 games

Gates, he has Ladarius Green to contend with and Stevie Johnson should be back soon. Olsen is Cam's fav target.

Id trade Olsen. Gates numbers if stretched out to 5 games would be 45 - 468 - 5TD. Rivers loves throwing.
