I posted about this a couple weeks ago.

As the quarter finals kick off in what is officially the most watched World Cup in history, we examine the winners and losers in financial terms. Fifa lists 22 official partners, sponsors and supporters - brands that between them are spending more than a billion dollars for the honour of having their names associated with the event. But is it right that all the money they're spending, and gaining in brand exposure, should be going to Fifa itself, and not to the host nation Brazil? We hear from Fifa critic Jules Boykoff, an author, a former Olympian and now an associate professor of political science at Pacific University in Oregon. And we get Fifa's response.

We also hear from David Peters, Managing Director at the sponsorship and marketing company Dentsu Aegis Network Sport and Entertainment. He advises brands associated with the World Cup. And, he says it is likely that brands and sponsors will be doing more to respond to public criticism around the way future World Cups are organised - in particular in the context of the controversial Qatar 22 World Cup bid. Finally the BBC's Rahul Tandon considers the extent to which smaller businesses like bars and restaurants in Europe and South Asia are experiencing a World Cup dividend

I think you quoted the wrong post. Regardless, being with a guy who isn't completely broke because they make illogical bets with money they can't afford to lose doesn't make you a gold digger.
Ops yep I quoted on the wrong post oppsie 🙁
No, but why do you want to be with someone reckless and irresponsible. Someone who blows away his student grant money on gambling
Reckless? Yes but he knew if he loses he had a backup plan. Student Finance covers 4 years and he is on a 3 year course, it's hard to explain but you can read all the info on the direct gov website. I didn't know this until he explained this to me a week before the world cup. I was really sad at first. He only gambles on the premiership league thingy and nothing else.

Gambling on Premier League is a lot worse than gambling on WC. WC is once every four years. Premier League you can gamble the whole season, every year!

Sounds like he has a gambling problem. He should also have a no girlfriend problem. >_<

Funny how you keep coming back to this thread, even though you know people are going to tell you to leave that leach.

Almost as if you want to hear it :whiste:

Leave Him

Leave him now.

Don't look back.

so brazil spent $Billions$ for the World Cup.

did they make a profit?

if not, how much did they lose?

They built a stadium that cost in the multi-billions that was only used twice, then they are shuttering it. With that kind of fiscal management, I doubt they made any money.

Real Madrid will be training at UCLA all of next week if anyone is in the area and wants to try and grab an autograph. They've done this the past 4-5 years. I have a picture with one player back when I was taking summer school. Don't know who though lol.

I am confident that gambling away money intended to pay for your education is not only something that very smart people do, but also something that the government is totally OK with.

seriously--dude's a loser. Sorry. 🙁

Been missing the World Cup.

Another great thing about this one was that it was very fair. No teams got thrown out due to some refereeing howler or anything. The best two teams made it to the final and the better team out of the two won.

even worse its second division as they just got relegated

poor taste.

Cant hate on a sweede though.... :/

I can't wait to see James play in Real Madrid. Best of luck to the top scorer of the World Cup.

I am as well, but I am wondering what formation they are going to use with James in the mix. I don't think he fits into their current 4-3-3, but they could change it. Who knows.

ignorance on many levels.

1. Tottenham is in the premier league
2. They challenged for a top four place deep into the season
3. If they had been relegated they would be in the Championship not the second division
4. It would take 3 relegations to go from EPL to 2nd division

1 - right fulham got relegated, that's how I was thinking of, my bad 😳

2 - yeah 6th behind Everton

3 - I called it second because its the second highest tier, sorry. I think calling it championship is stupid, just like how I still call DII DII in NCAA Football instead of FCS, because its stupid 😛

Regardless of all that Tottenham sucks anyway. Betting on them is stupid. Real men bet on teams that actually win (and start with the word 'Real' and contain the word 'Madrid').

actually, real men bet on the games that are fixed...which is like 60% of soccer.

😀

while that is probably extremely accurate tons of soccer is played in terribly corrupt places, only one league has had an issue with it recently
