Argentina pissed me off. I feel like their front is flooded with too many talented strikers and don't know what to do with each other. They showed utter lack of team work that cost them the match. Also, a lot of these guys just plain lack scoring-skills. At least when playing together.

I applaud Germany. Argentina is my team but if they had won, I would be slightly annoyed. They wouldn't have deserved it.
 
One thing I learned from this game that most were wrong about was that the better team did not win. Argentina was equal to Germany in almost every facet. While Germany got that goal in extra time, it could have well been Argentina, especially Messi, executing one of their many attempts. Their defense was as good and their offense was as dangerous and threatening. They simply came up short in this game. If this were a series, ie 2 out of 3, or 4 out of 7, it could have gone to Argentina the same. Obviously that wasn't the challenge set forth tho.

I did love how Germany put pressure on Argentina's ball handlers at midfield. The caused a lot of turnovers early. On the other hand, Argentina's excellent goal defense got possession and sent the ball downfield to their strikers(?) extremely quickly and effectively. I suspect that was a symptom of their strategy/coverage decisions as well. Overall, both were excellent teams that played like champions play.
 
So happy that Deutschland won. This match was excellent, with both sides taking opportunities where they came really close to scoring goals.
 
Argentina really missed Di Maria. It's no coincidence that they failed to score completely once he's out injured. You can see today that Messi has to drop really deep to start attacking moves. Which also means he was never going to be in a position to score himself. His teammates really let him down too with the few clear opportunities that did come up.
 
great game overall though. Shame about the outcome--though Germany was certainly the best team of the tournament.

the goal by Goatse was amazing.

Yes definitely they missed Di Maria. The Germans in this match missed Khedira a lot. It probably wouldn't have gone to extra time otherwise
