The fact that Germany is able to make one or two extra passes in the box and have a guy or two open certainly has something to do with the defense. 😀

One would like to believe Germany is playing *that* well, but at this point one has to point to coaching imo...

If this much scoring was normal for soccer it would likely be much more popular in the US.

As long as the game is played at a high level, popularity will increase, imo. This is a thing of beauty, but I'd take games like the US vs. Netherlands over this anytime.

I think many who watched that game realized how exciting it can be even when the score is minimal.

I agree. it's much more suspenseful when the score is close. the nature of the low scoring of soccer makes watching it more intense
