Well, I'm still very proud of our boys. USA had no chance going into the "Group of Death" and right now we're looking pretty good. Well done team USA. Just please play like this against Germany too and hope Portugal wins by only a goal (or ties) against Ghana and we should be through.
 
If USA gets through they just might win the whole thing. Just judging by momentum and being the underdog. This is reminding me a lot of the 1980 Winter Olympics.
 
Man, that was a tough tie. Just rolled over for the last few seconds. If we tie Germany we are in. If Portugal beat Ghana and we lose, we advance as long as the goal differential is in our favor...we lose by one and Portugal wins by one. If Ghana wins it's a whole other situation.

Germany should know they only need a tie to get first in the group. Hopefully that encourages them to play a bit more defensive.
 
Yeah usa got conceit at the end thinking they got the win. One thign they learn, it is not over till it is the end. They did a good game but they would have had it if they actually guard at the last minute.
 
So what happens if USA loses and Ghana wins, in a way such their goal differential is the same? Does USA get through via head to head or is there something else to go by?

Either way, USA needs to keep this fast break rush style they have. It's great to watch. Just get the D tightened up and we could be a real force.

I honestly think you need to worry about Ghana more than Portugal. They have been very solid and the US was extremely lucky to get that first win. I can see Ghana winning against a pretty rough Portugal team quite easily.

Hoping for a US win/tie, so there is no doubt, but Germany is very tough. Should be a fun Thursday morning since they have both games on at the same time. :thumbsup:

Third tiebreaker is total goals scored (4 - 3 right now USA).

Forth is head to head (USA wins this).
 
The fact that Klinsmann is german makes me 99% sure they will agree on forcing a draw, as shady as it might seem
Lets face it, why wouldnt they? Not only do they instantly qualify but the players also get to rest a bit before the round of 16

That and the German team gets first in the group. We would be happy to escape with second. I think we could beat either team that advances from group H.
