I have two QBs with these week 1 matchups:
Aaron Rodgers who plays Seattle. Seattle has arguably the top defense
Big Ben who plays Cleveland. The Browns D is middle of the road.

Everyone says that I should stick with Rodgers and I probably will. But it is tempting to use Big Ben in week 1.

You stick with Rodgers, he has a lot of weapons.

Gordon news came down, suspended for a year. Sucks for the people that took a chance at drafting him (I'm not one of them though).

If anyone is looking for one extra player for their league on Yahoo, NFL.com or CBSSports, feel free to PM me. I'm always in for something new.

Got to say this...I HATE drafting 12th...never seems to go well for me having back to back.

Either someone picks the guy I am keying on right before me and I am left scrambling or I hit the shelf right where the picks drop off to the next tier.

And I was one of those that drafted Gordon two days ago late 🙂

Thoughts on Greg Jennings and tyvon Austin for the upcoming year, I draft them late in hopes of a miracle.

10 team snake, this mega bears fan first time fantasy player drafted Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery with his first two picks. He was 10th overall so he drafted them back to back.

He also ended up with 2 DEF and 2 kickers.... and 2 RB's. Total. Zac Stacy and Danny Woodhead.

12th pick? Grab a top 3 QB and the best Running back you can grab. Or grab two really good running backs. WRs will still be around in later rounds that a re pretty good.

I had to pick as number 8 in a 10 man league and picked players in this order:
RB->RB->WR->WR->WR->???

I think I actually went TE on round 6 because everyone already had a QB at that point so there was little reason to waste a round 6 pick on a QB when I could probably grab the same guy in round 8.

And Yahoo decides to stop working 30 mins before our draft at 7pm CST tonight. Yay. So how's my team for being 1st pick of ten teams in a standard scoring with fractional points?

In yahoo fantasy football, someone in my league is dropping a player to make a trade. I want that player and need to know what time of day the trade actually occurs. Yahoo only tells me the date, not the time.

The player will go on waivers after the trade completes. You can check your league settings but it's likely 3 days trade review and 2-3 on waivers before he is available as an FA so probably 5 days to a week. Unless you or another owner spend a waiver priority claim of FAAB funds on him in which case you will save a day.

If u only have the date, it night just be start of the date which is normally PST of that date. But if he goes into waviers(likely) u need to wait it out the extra 2-3 days.

I do not understand how autodraft ranks are still as bad as they are. I just did a mock 12 team snake and left with 4 rounds to go (since everyone else had already dropped out) and even though I already had picked Cutler a round or so earlier, it decided to pick Eli and Alex Smith with 2 of my last 4 picks! Ridiculous. You would think by this point they could do a better job.

Agreed. You should be able to tell it what positions to draft as well. In my live drafts I never choose more than one DEF or K. I'll pick one up when I need them. I would auto draft more often if you could control position chosen as well.

At this point all you can really do is tell it who *not* to draft.

This year I went a little crazy with our new rule of allowing to trade draft picks (I had #1 and traded down to #11 then down to #15). We have pretty standard scoring except interceptions and fumbles are worth -5. What do you guys think? ESPN graded it an A+ in those automated grades it does, but I don't think it's that good.

Update: 16 man league

How many teams? Yikes that's not even fun. Lose Bell and you are f'd. I'm not a fan of any leagues over 12 teams. The depth required for those field sizes is just silly. Once you get past rounds 7-8 it's total dumpster diving.

16 man league.

Yes, yes it is. So many random picks that turn out to be a bust, but then someone gets that one person that does way better than where they were picked.

Not a bad starting team, altho not high on TY (too many mouths to feed at Indy) nor Maclin (injury prone). However, your bench is absolute garbage. That's the problem with auto-picking, you get a lot of the trash that nobody else wanted. Better hope for monster seasons from Stafford and JC (again).

Two guys I've been avoiding early are Lacy and Julio Jones. I may be eating crow at the end of the year, but Lacy's running style will catch up with him like last year + college, he's like a bull in a china shop. Julio's foot just worries the hell out of me. I went a little outside of the box this year and took Demarco Murray first and then Jordy in a PPR 0.5 league. My other one (passing league) I went Brees>Demarco. You absolutely cannot mess up your first two picks or you're fucked, according to Matthew Berry (ESPN).

Also consider that Green Bay had the worst run blocking OLine in the NFL last year while Dallas finished 20th and are getting some hype this year (improved). Of course Murray is always an injury risk, but he's working with a better OLine and tries to avoid contact and kick it outside vs Lacy's in-your-face style + Linehan should give Murray a lion's share of touches for PPR. I look for consistency more than high ceiling this year, esp since RB1's have a steep dropoff after the top 6.

One guy that is intriguing and still on my waiver wires is Kelce. When will KC give this guy a shot over Fasano? He put up an almost identical SPARQ score to Gronk so the physical tools are there. I'm going to pick him up as a shot in the dark before the first game to fill out my final bench slots in both leagues. Of course we did that with Ladarius Green last year and he didn't get much of a chance either, however he still has Antonio Gates to contend with whereas Kelce has an easier path.

Went WR and RB crazy as usual. 2WR/2RB/1W/R league. I usually go week to week with Defenses depending on opponents. Not sure how I'm feeling though, didn't read up as much as usual.

Already in 1 other NFL.com league, will probably join 2 more last minute for shits and giggles.

Totally agree.

Anyone dump some money into FanDuel and give it a try? I'll admit I'm intrigued. I'm decent at building very solid teams and the weekly nature of it takes some of the injury risk and bye week shenanigans out of the season long nature of traditional leagues.

I tried it last year. My first week I did really well, seemed incredibly easy. Next week I pushed my luck and lost all I had 😀

Maybe I'll give it a more refined chance this year

Heh. So goes the gambling life.

How much were you wagering per league/week? $5-$10? Or is it more worthwhile to move up to the $25 ones?
