cowboys play the saints, skins play the eagles. skins also have the tie-breaker. I think the skins are going to take the nfc east.

I think so too.

I'm pretty confident the Cowboys will continue to grab defeat from the jaws of victory.

Could be, hell it's a long shot right now. One thing is for sure though, I'm not a Romo cheerleader as many know, but that game last night was the best December game I've ever seen Romo play. Pinpoint accuracy, patience, and calm in the face of some mad rushes (including a couple sacks that he took like a man instead of throwing an INT in desperation). If he plays as well as he did yesterday and still loses, I certainly won't put the L on Romo this time.

Don't be so quick to write off the cowboys. Romo is throwing darts, Dez is the hottest receiver in football, and the team is playing with confidence.

I like their chances better than I would have earlier in the season, that's for sure!

I'll be rooting for the Giants because that's my home team, but I agree that the Redskins are the most dynamic and I'd cheer for them too.

The Giants may surprise us yet, but last night I was embarassed watching them. Ah well, all of the NFC East is a long shot this year. If the Skins continue their play, and earn the NFC East title, I'll definitely be tuned in and watching their progress happily.

i've been listening to some ravens sports talk around here and it is HILARIOUS to hear the ravens fans calling for flacco's head saying he sucks, when a few months ago every raven fan was calling him one of the elite qb's of the league.

The Ravens are in a real bind with Flacco. He wants a big long-term deal, and while he's not that good there are plenty of teams with lousy quarterbacks out there who'd probably make him a substantial offer. He'll probably play in Baltimore under the franchise tag next year, although the thought of Joe Flacco being paid like a top-5 quarbterback makes you shake your head.

On a somewhat related note I think it's time to cut Ed Reed after this season is over. He's gobbling up a lot of cap space that he really isn't worth anymore.

Oh Steelers. Sigh :(

On the bright side, they're still not completely out of it (hard as they may try to miss the playoffs) and it should make the Giants/Skins/Cowboys an interesting knot to untie.

It is stunning that Peterson, and Peterson alone, has us this close to the playoffs. Tough schedule, but the fact the Vikes control their own fate is stunning. and it's all because the miracle of modern medicine: The Purple Jesus. :awe:

I saw him walking around after the game with his helmet off, he has such a strangely shaped head.

It would be sad if A Peterson does not get CBPOTY. Both he and Manning deserve it, but everyone knows that QBs are always favored, and the Manning is touched by baby Jesus and no ill or slight may befall him (It is in the NFL bylaws, after all).

Though, in all seriousness, they will probably share it.

I don't even know if I can ever watch another 49er game this season. The last 5 weeks, literally every time I turn the channel to the game, they do something stupid. Last night, 31-3, I should be pretty safe to watch now.. even though in the back of my head I know you can't ever count Brady out.

Ya... I know it's stupid to think, but even my wife is like you turn on the game they start screwing up and losing. So all I do is get my scoring updates on the phone. Ugh.

AP played 12 games last year and barely missed 1000 yards. I'm not sure he is in the discussion for the award with that in mind.

I think they should share it. No shame in sharing an award like that, it's not really something you "win" it's more just a sign of respect. OROY, DROY, and MVP are more competitive-type awards that should never be shared.

I watched a good portion of the Chargers/Panthers game and it was pretty brutal to watch the Chargers just implode. The Chargers look like they just gave up on the season in that game, Philip Rivers was horrible.

time for the chargers to cut Ryan mathews, he's not a NFL starting RB, he's build like a china doll.

any good RBs coming out of 2013 draft class?

CK Flacco couldn't beat Charlie Batch in his own crib, what makes you think he can beat Peyton Flippin' Manning?

(CK stands for Coach killer)

They have lost 2 in a row which should have been 3 because of a lucky play by Ray Rice on a 4th and 29 or something otherwise they would have even lost to Phillis CryMeA

/Broncos fans are not worried

Yep

Whats he gonna do? He just got his offensive coordinator fired, is he really going to be able to make so much happen in one week with a new guy writing new plays? Doubt it

/Not worried

Yep and Yep

I predict the Broncos will win but it'll be a close call, possibly going into overtime. I suspect the Ravens' offense will perform well. They're at home and Flacco is usually pretty good when he's playing in Baltimore. Unfortunately the defense is too old & has had too many injuries. Ray Lewis may be one hell of a leader but he can't run from father time forever. Ngata has been banged up and hasn't been spectacular, and Suggs is coming back from his second injury. I suspect that defense will cost Baltimore the game, but if they can snag an early lead and use Ray Rice to burn up the clock you never know.

Nope and double nope

The only way you're playing for a first round bye is if the Broncos end up with a better record than the Pats, which I'm not expecting given the schedules remaining.

Guess you were wrong. Now what do you expect given the schedules remaining :p

Montee Ball out of Wisconson and Stepfan Taylor out of Stanford are a couple of the better RBs coming out this year that I know of (though I'll admit I don't watch a ton of college FB). I don't believe either is expected to be a first round pick. Marcus Lattimore maybe, but he most likely won't be playing his first year due to injury.

I still don't think Denver is all that great. They've lost all 3 games against the top teams in their schedule (Houston, NE, Atlanta). Beyond that they only have 3 decent wins against overrated AFC north teams (Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincy)

This draft is going to have only a few good RB's. No obvious choice, and there won't be one taken in the first round.

This draft will be all about Defense. There is so much talent across the board. There will be a sprinkling of QB's in the first 10 picks but out of 32 picks I would expect as many as 25 of those to be defenseive picks. A couple OLine men and TE's sprinkled in as well.

There probably won't even be a running back or wide receiver taken in the first round this year.

Then you don't know much.

They lost all of those games at the beginning of the season. We are not the same team we were in week 5. We lost all 3 of those before week 6.

You'll realize soon enough

There will be atleast one WR taken in the first, Keenan Allen. Outside of that, who knows.

You're a different team because you've been playing crap teams the latter part of the season. I think they'd lose to Houston, NE, GB, Atlanta, SF, and Seattle.

Oh and you forgot we also decimated the New Orleans Saints when they were starting to play well.

Bottom line, we lost 3 to 3 great teams, sure, before week 6. Look at the losses of all the other so called "top teams" and who they've beat.

have you watched many of denver's games? they aren't just sliding by against mediocore/weak teams. they are putting them in their place for the most part.

There is no way in hell we would lose to Atlanta

We lost by 1 point even when PFM threw 3 INT's in the first quarter. All 3 of which were brain farts on his part. His worst game by far and still before he gained the chemistry he has now. We could beat any of those other teams on any given Sunday.

But hey, we'll see won't we

Yeah I was incorrect. The Ravens were horrible yesterday, the fact that they clinched a playoff berth the same day made me chuckle.

I do feel a little bad for all the grief that Joe Flacco is getting though. His offensive line is shit and the defense is porous & has been devastated by injuries. There are many, many things wrong with the Ravens that are worse than Flacco.

Clearly he is just looking at scores and notices that some games are far closer then they actually are. Look at yesterday's win. Basically we won by 17 pts on the scoreboard but in reality, anyone who watched it will tell you that it wasn't even that close. Its John Fox's coaching style to let off the gas and let teams get garbage time points. He isn't Pete Carol or Belicheat where he is full throttle and rubbing it in.
