I assume you're a Redskins fan since you're in the DC area - at least the one constant in our division is y'all in last place ;)

I definitely prefer the skins over the cowgirls, but they aren't my team. I can't stand their management/coaches. Honestly, I just can't stand Cowboys fans. :D

I can't hate on the Colts since Peyton's not there anymore. It's also not worth the time because regardless of what I say, you'll do whatever it takes just to annoy me even more.

I think you've gone off the deep end dude. Seriously, I know we bicker and trade barbs over our teams, but I don't remember you being this abrasive before. Is this the real dougp or has his account been hijacked? Or did the Mavericks getting booted in the NBA playoffs send you off the deep end or something?

I'm a Spurs fan ;) My wife is a Mavs fan though. Honestly, for some reason the Cowboys tend to generate so much hate from people that have no legitimate reason, and then insulting either their players (Homo Romo, Dez Bryant's family issues, etc.) or the team. People don't want to talk about statistics or anything else - all they want to do is insult a team that has never actually done anything to garner what people say. And I'm just sick of it, so I fight fire with fire at this point.

I don't really hate the team so much as I do Jerry Jones. But yet I love Mark Cuban. Ishin't that weird?

I hate Jerry Jones. That's my real beef with the team.

I dislike Jerry Jones myself, but there's nothing I can do about it. I also loathe Cuban (well, being a Spurs fan, I have to) but I really wanted him to buy the Cubs or Rangers because I felt that he'd have been great for MLB.

I hate Jerry Jones. That's my real beef with the team.

Why do both of y'all hate Jones, cause he's willing to spend? I just hate that he runs the team into the ground with his management style and not allowing a coach to have more control. I don't know many Cowboys fans that actually like Jones.

As evidenced by the NBA playoffs thread, dougp is a real doucher when it comes to talking sports.

No freaking kidding.

I just said Romo = Zero. I did not insult Romo by calling him "homo" or any other names yet dougp was all hot and bother. Make you wondering eh? :D

just checked, in 4 leagues 0 drafted Ogletree; expect to see at least 3 of them where he gets picked up from this.

The guy I was playing in an ATOT league had Ogletree on his team and dropped him! Lucky me huh? Then again I don't blame him, no one could have expected that kind of performance from a low-end, rarely targeted receiver.

I hate him because he ran the team into the ground. I EXPECT an owner to spend money to make a team successful, so that is no issue. I used to be a Cowboys fan from when I was a kid in the late 70s up until the mid 90s (when we got the Colts in 84, the Cowboys became my favorite NFC team rather than my favorite team overall). I was pissed at how he handled firing Landry, but I agreed that Landry needed to go. I just thought they should've handled it better but who knows, maybe Landry gave him no other option.

He was always an asshat, but when he fired Jimmy Johnson, that was the last straw. He let his supersized ego overrule good business sense and he likely cost himself 2 more SB wins at a minimum and lost his best judge of talent. In his drunken stupor, when he proclaimed that "anyone" could coach that Cowboys team to a SB win, he might have been right, but only because Jimmy built the team in the first place. The Barry Switzer SB win was a joke; that was largely Jimmy's team and the Cowboys are now on the longest championship drought in their entire history, thanks to Jerry Jones.

So what's the derogatory nickname for the Saints going to be? It's gotta be something along the lines of the stuff people call the Pats (Cheatriots, Belicheats, etc.) I need to be ready on sunday.

PS: I'm a Saints fan. ;)

And you don't see the irony in giving the Pats a hard time when its your team currently in the dog house?

Pretty funny.

Broncos going to pwn the Steelers

Of course I do. Why else would I mention it? I'm preparing myself for the inevitable.

On 4chan's sports board they refer to Drew Brees as a "dome babby" because he puts up much better numbers in a dome. Although I don't totally agree with the common assessment of dome QBs. Obviously they put up better numbers in domes if their home stadium is a dome because of home field advantage.

I am different than you. I don't go around throwing homo insults. You quoted me last night, therefore, I have no choice but to reply in kind. See my sig below about the Golden Rule.

This isn't new behavior, he acts just as childish in any sports thread, such as last year's NFL thread or this past NBA playoffs thread. The lesson here is to ignore him. That, or feed his rage and watch him flail around and squeal like a child, butthurt after a loss.

My team didn't lose. But hey, whatever you think!

I never said I was ashamed, I just said that it's not worth it. You're not going to listen to me about anything I say about Romo. You started with the personal attacks, not me - and the fact that you didn't dispute it proves that I'm right.

You seem to get pissed if anyone says anything negative about the Cowboys period, and not just Romo. I remember posting a series of funny Jerry Jones pictures in one of the weekly NFL threads last year and you got all pissed.

I've actually been defending Romo to a lot of people lately.

People really do go batshit over sports, it should no longer amaze me, but it does.

It's a stabilizing presence for a lot of people, almost a religion for a few. I think we should be glad sports competition in the U.S. is usually friendly, as it can get a lot more heated in other countries with riots after soccer matches.

eh, everyone hates Jerry Jones and the general smugness that must accompany the true believer's of "America's team" (no one outside of Dallas believes this) or "God's team," as they are also known.

That's why everyone has vocal, legit reasons to hate the Cowboys.

Also, the cracksmoking pederasts like Michael Irving that remain in their HoF.

That being said, I don't hate on Romo like most, but any self-respecting follower of the NFL understands that he's a lower tier-2 QB on his best day (that's actually not a horrible thing. More than half the league would gladly start him, I think).

SO this is what you were going-on about last night? :D
