One thing I learned from tonight's game:

Replacement refs are more than capable of doing the job.

Do not want to give the Giants the ball back here. That would not be good.

Hope Wilson keeps the defense honest to allow some awesome "Beast Mode" runs by Lynch.

Unfortunately "Beast Mode" is on hold for at least Week1 due to back spasms. However, the Seahawks drafted an apparent gem in Robert Turbin, a 4th rounder out of Utah State. He weighs over 220 pounds and ran just under a 4.5 40.

Turbin has looked great so far in the preseason, and I think he can hold down the fort just fine until Lynch returns, and provide some in game relief for Lynch during the season.

Huge night for Romo. And huge pick up in all of my fantasy leagues in Ogletree or Oglethorpe or whatever his name is.

Damn, I know they have some injuries but the Giants' secondary was awful this game.

just checked, in 4 leagues 0 drafted Ogletree; expect to see at least 3 of them where he gets picked up from this.

and the giants D was fairly sad if the front line wasn't able to get a clean rush off.

Yeah, anyone who picked up (and played) Ogletree is a freaking psychic. He'll be popular on the waivers but we'll have to wait and see if he continues getting all those targets and staying hot. Crazy big game for him though.

That was a pretty good game. Gotta say though, I don't really like the way Murray runs. He keeps running into his own blockers seemingly on purpose instead of decisively taking a cut around them.

It was mentioned about Murray being a speed back but lowering his head and taking a hit like a power back every play too. Dude has to get past that phase fast or he's going to have a very short career. Just had to look at the running difference between the 1st half and 2nd half - he looked WAY better when he started taking even small cuts to get around blocks and find holes instead of trying to power his way through six linemen at a time. There were probably half a dozen runs in the first half where he could have easily broken for 5 to 10 yard gains instead of a loss if he wasn't just putting his head down and running into the backs of his own blockers.

Really surprised and disappointed the NFL is starting the season with replacement refs. They did a good job tonight, i didn't think they'd make a mockery of the sport or anything... but it's an insult to the fans who pay money to see these games that they're not putting the best product on the field. Especially over so little money, when the NFL makes billions of dollars in profits every year. These replacement refs have an insane amount of pressure on them, and they don't have the experience needed, it's only a matter of time before some glaring mistakes are made and games are cost as the result of horrible calls.

Oh, and the game itself was pretty good. Went by really quick. Ogletree looking like a new star, Cruz looking mighty rusty.

WTF was that anthem about? I like me some old school rap/90s hip hop and all but to give our anthem a f'in beat is a disgrace.

Turned it off and didn't even watch the POS game.

GO 49ERS!!!!

Oh, look at 10 years old kid throwing insult.

Anyone with 1/2 brain would know that if Giants DBs would play a decent game, they would have won.

How many SB your Romo hero had been in/won? Just what I thought. ZERO!!!! Who's homo now biotch? Now take that in all of your holes...take it deep because you was born to do...it is your destiny.

As evidenced by the NBA playoffs thread, dougp is a real doucher when it comes to talking sports.

This is just the kind of thing that will build up the Cowboy fan's egos for a devastating humiliation later on in the season. Can't wait! :D:thumbsup:

I assume you're a Redskins fan since you're in the DC area - at least the one constant in our division is y'all in last place ;)
