FINALLY. So happy that its finally happened and happy that it was Johan that did it. I'm pissed though that it happened WHEN I WAS WORKING! ROAR!!! Johan had a very high pitch count and I hope he'll be ok for his next start.

I'm glad something good finally happened for Johan.

That said, the NL East is the best division in baseball with the Nats, Mets, and Marlins all tied for first and Philly in last (with a record that would be good enough for 2nd in most divisions). Crazy stuff but I love it.

All star voting is up. Will do some vote trading with whoever (as long as you give a legit name). I'm pulling hard for Konerko to make it. I think Sale and Peavy might get picked up but obviously pitchers get hand selected.

I hear ya, but I contend that the AL East is just as good. Our last place teams are at .519 and only 1.5gb the wild card leader.

Back 2 Back 2 Back homers against Johan... So much for the adrenaline from the no hitter. 6-0 NYY

I wonder if a pitcher who threw a no-hitter has ever had one thrown against him in his next start.

Could be interesting if Kuroda goes the distance.

Crazy day in baseball. Kuroda almost no hits the Mets in Santana's first start back after his own no hitter.

Three different players were a triple short of the cycle (Victorino, Harper, Votto)

Millwood takes himself out of the game after throwing 6 no hit innings, due to an apparent injury. Bullpen still has the NH in tact.

Boy are the Mets shit. Granted they won 3 of 4 against the Cards but they also lost 2 of 3 to the Phils and Nats and just got swept by the Yanks. Now they face the Rays and I think the Orioles are after Tampa. Mets bullpen is just god awful.

I absolutely love Howie Rose (mets play by play man) but I got tired of him whining about the "bandbox" aspect of Yankee Stadium. He called a few Yankee homers "pop fly homers". How 'bout the Mets hit some fucking "pop fly homers" Howie?

wow, quick to jump ship!!! 😱 the mets were bound to hit a slump sooner or later. look at the all the injuries they have played through. they need to get tejada back and hope turner can get back soon. they will come out of it

yeah, mets need to release bay and move on. he had one good year in boston with the green monster and got paid millions of $$$ for that one good season.

Epic weekend from the Nats as they sweep the Bosox, and Valentine blames it on the umps:
Good umpires had a real bad series this series -- a real bad series -- and it went one way. There should be a review.

No, maybe if your lame outfield didn't let Harper score from first on a double you'd still have a chance at winning the dam game.

The Phillies, not even going there today. Only ones hitting worth a dam are Pence/Ruiz. Vic and Rollins are no shows so far. They really need Howard and Utley and Halladay back stat.

Altuve is continuing to impress me in Houston, holy hell what a first half so far. 3 more Ribbies last night for the little big man.

Lincecum falls to 2-7 after last night, what is up with him? 1.58 WHIP, 6.00 ERA, ouch.

The putrid Cubs fire hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo and GM Theo Epstein said the team is now in selling mode. Not sure who is even good on that team. Garza? Reed Johnson?

Dempster is about the most common name I hear thrown around as a trade deadline acquisition. If the Tigers give up anything meaningful for him, though, I will kill myself.

So how 'bout those Natinals? They are just rolling along with strong pitching and Bryce Harper has been great too. Soon they'll have their closer back as well as Werth. Zimmerman hasn't done much but I'm sure he'll start doing his thing.

I don't usually link ESPN articles anywhere, but I thought Crasnick did a good job with his piece on umpires. Lot's of insight from people that actually work for MLB, including Torre.

Sidenote: I didn't realize that Santana only got his no-hitter because of a missed call. Interesting.

After another (two, actually) blown calls last night cost the Tigers another game, I sure feel like there have been a lot more mistakes, and blatant mistakes at that, than in years past. Maybe it's just my perception.

Either way, I'm still up for more technology in the game. Even strike calls...although that will never happen.

Dickey is pitching out of his mind right now. Lynn not far behind. Bet you neither of these guys were drafted in your fantasy BB league

One gift no-hitter wasn't enough. The Mets are appealing Dickey's one hitter, saying that the hit should have been ruled an error. 🙄
