Why did Nate do that?? Where's the composure!!!?!?! Nice flop by Lebron there though.. He practically jumped backwards

edit: ty refs!

Once again, f'ing boozer afraid to attack the bigs at the end of the game, deferring and settling for weak jumpers, which he rarely makes late in the clutch.

It's been a tough year for bulls fans. Instead of the end, best to look a this as the beginning of preparation for next year, which is absolutely going to be a barn burner for chicago (no pun intended...)

Bulls did exactly what I hoped for. Wasn't expecting a win but at least they put up a fight and ended a shot or two away from pushing the series another game. Really can't expect much more being down 2 starters and an MVP going up against the best team in the league. They fought and tried to take one instead of laying over dying.

The bulls have some options. They can amnesty boozer and, as much as it pains me to say this, trade deng, and acquire a max 2/3/4...any suggestions who to go after/who's available? It's got to be someone that can consistently get points, get their own shot, and of course is willing to bust their @ss for Thibs on defense (and fits the character profile/history required of the chicago bulls organization.

They won't amnesty Boozer from what I have been reading/hearing. They let Asik go for absolutely nothing, they weren't willing to keep him for a $5M tax bill. Even then they could have matched Houston's contract and used him as trade bait for picks. Apparently they have quite a few minority owners that aren't willing to go above the cap and actually pay out of pocket for their slice of the team. Though an amnesty wouldn't affect the cap number, the team still needs to pay out of pocket for his salary.

Deng will be an expiring contract next year, so they might be able to move him even though teams are a little more weary of that kind of thing now. Either way he isn't worth 10X what Jimmy Butler makes.

Besides the two terrible Boozer and Deng contracts, which collectively are just short of Lebron and Wade in price, the Taj Gibson contract might be one of the worst lesser known contracts in the NBA. They will never be able to unload that piece of crap. It hasn't even kicked in yet but why not pay a one dimensional bench guy who lacks size nearly $10M a year?

The Bulls wasted a huge opportunity this year. They could have amnestied Boozer, not extended Gibson, traded Deng in a salary dump and gone in full tank mode and told Rose to take the year off to recover. Then instruct Thibs to think big picture in order to have a brighter future. It didn't happen and the window closed.

In a dream world they do the Boozer amnesty and work to get Dwight Howard or Kevin Love to pair with Rose. From there get some horses who can fly up and down the floor and tell Thibs to suck it if he won't run 8 or 9 deep and utilize athleticism. Talent beats coaching in basketball and he needs to learn to work within that construct.

Everyone was surprised Rose took so long. As hard as he worked in rehab, it was expected he'd be back sooner than later, giving them time to play together before making a playoff run. If everyone else was healthy too, it could have been a special year. Wasn't to be tho, and deng and hinrich's issues made it appear worse of a gamble.

Gibson makes $7.5-$9m during his contract. I don't have a problem with that, almost 1/2 of boozer's, but he's got to keep working on his offense. Seems he took a step back in confidence, altho still contributed. He'll be a solid contributor for the next few years.

It just doesn't pay to stay with boozer tho. He's an excellent contributor against lesser matchups but gets taken out of the game by top players and defenses. And his 'flash' defense has run it's course (ie flashing norris cole before letting him by to slam in the open lane.)

Love would be a great replacement to boozer. He's solid chemistry and a very hard worker. Have to amnesty boozer to get him, hopefully they will.

Agreed. Most stacked teams underperform. The combination of the two is lethal, but talent isn't sh!t deep in the playoffs without high level coaching. Too often, an imbalance of one or the other makes the other appear more deficient than it really is.

Well coached talent is obviously the goal, but when you have a dearth of talent and a surplus of coaching it will lose to a surplus of talent and a dearth of coaching. See the Clips this year who posted a substantially better record in a tougher conference than the Bulls.

For the record, the Grizz aren't that much more talented than OKC (even minus Westbrook). Hollins absolutely undressed Brooks this series. He even went as far as to run straight zone (shades of Carlisle) against OKC.

He also undressed VDN with all that talent the Clippers had this year.

It would have been a much closer series had Griffin not gotten hurt, most likely seven games.

If the Clips had A level talent then the Grizz had B level, though that tips back to a wash or advantage Grizz once Griffin was hurt. Coaching was an A for Hollins versus an F- for VDN.

My original point was that you need to utilize the talent you have on hand as a coach. The goal it to maximize what you have. Thibs takes talent and hides it on the bench or coaches out displays of brilliance in order to fit his rigid system.

Every year Thibs is the coach I will successfully call their impending crash and burn at the start of the season. Every year I will be right. You can give him the Heat roster and they wouldn't win with him. He just isn't that kind of coach. You know, the coach that can win it all.

Memphis is going to the NBA Finals against Miami

They are taking out the Spurs again.

Agreed, although I am a die hard spurs fan, this post season they have been very unpredictable and inconsistent. I want to see a better team against Miami.
