Anyone ever try http://gorillatrades.com/ or any of those other stock trading service?

My aunt works for a doctor and is always telling me the guy uses a service that picks stocks. He goes into his account at lunch time, sets the buy and sell marks on what the recommendations are and leaves the office $1500.00 richer. The services are like $1k a month though so you need brass balls just to join the circus.

$1000/month? I've been doing this wrong all along, just selling trading tips could get one rich, with very little risk, you know, talk is cheap. At least Azurik is moving that direction and got a few suc..err I mean subscribers.

I pay 4.95 per transaction but I use bare min. not sure if there are other features. It's pretty cut and dry for me.. I'm not that experienced though.

It has a social network type of feel with it.

yeah i am 0 experienced as well. Mostly gonna use it for short trades (if im using the term right) or some day trading while being bored at work. Mostly penny stocks and metals till i get used to it.

I saw it posted that zecco has no pre/after hours trading. Kinda hurts since i work 3 - 11pm est and thats when im on the pc the most :p

Zecco is fine if you already have stocks in mind. Don't bother trying to use it to scope out new finds though, the tools just don't compare. However with 4.95 in commissions it's hard to ignore. I use some other platforms to keep eyes on things and then trade through zecco. Biggest annoyance as of now is that trailing stops don't really seem to work.

It depends on what you want to do. For major stocks any brokerage will do. The research and trading tools are different to, so it depends on what you're comfortable with. Once you get into more advanced trading, you need to find a brokerage that has what you need. Options, margin, advanced options (straddles, butterflies, etc.), share availability to short, OTC/pink sheet rules, blah blah blah. You get what I mean.

I don't use order preview anymore. I type simple commands to buy and sell on a dime. Although today that wasn't good. I entered the wrong ticker symbol for a buy and lost $1,000+ trying to sell it back.

I did make $4,000+ though, mainly bouncing around with SPOFF. Love rollercoasters.

CPRX finally popped, sold my last 200shares @ 1.66 for a ~50% gain.

My broker (Fidelity) offers commission free trading of certain ETFs. Is there a downside to trading one of these such as IVV?

Wow, I just took a huge loss and wiped out all my gains since last November. Looking like another correction is here/coming, so I went to 75% cash. Let's see what kind of shit Congress pulls.

Yup. Zecco used to be awesome b/c if you kept a $25,000 balance at the beginning of the month, you got 10 free trades at the rest at $4.95. Now they went away from the free trades. It's $4.95 normally and $6.95 for pennies/pink/otc.

HOWEVER, their tools and interface sucks IMO. Etrade is 10x better. It's almost to the point where saving $10 on a buy/sell isn't worth using Zecco. That's just my opinion though. Plus Etrade gives you a free key fob with a rolling code on it for extra security if you keep $50k I think.

Oh, that's what I did this morning. Dumped BAC at a near 20% loss. Should have dumped it the day after earnings, but I didn't want to record a loss. I'd only be down 3% if I did. Never ending mortgage/housing crisis leftover problems, fading guberment backing, dead housing market, loss of overall market confidence = quit while I'm still afloat.

Also got rid of Ford. Great fundamentals, but dead money is dead money, and the investor confidence thing too. Let's see how far it can slide after QE2 ends and the guberment still won't raise the debt limit until the eleventh hour.

Mulally's going to talk to Wall Street sometime this week, it'll be interesting to see if anything comes out of that at least.

Legal trouble too will bring renewed concern, and it won’t be limited to Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS). Legislators and their legal advocates are just beginning to get around to prosecuting lenders they believe were at fault in laying the ground for the 2008 debacle. The Times reports, “The biggest banks face another threat from an investigation into mortgage servicing abuses by all 50 state attorneys general, who are pressing for a settlement of $20 billion or more.”
