So that's it? It's over? No big win?

Sounds like I should sell my calls now while they still have value?

Should have clarified, it was a settlement rumor being pushed into the news wire. Sorry for any confusion! The bump would have been bigger than that!

Thanks for the clarification.

I'm holding front month calls that expire Friday. I'm still hoping there's a chance of some news before then. Sounds like if they are discussing a settlement today, we'd know more before earnings.

RMBS rumors hint towards price manipulation. The stock price rose temporarily on rumored good news. It is possible that somebody in a position to create such a rumor wanted to sell. Does this mean anything? I am not sure.

They definitely missed consensus estimates. iPhone sales affected by stale hardware, iPad sales also relatively soft.

Surprisingly they're not low-balling the holiday quarter guidance as they always have.

Unlike Apple on both counts!

I hope it goes down to 380 tmw, so I can buy more.

I bought into appl back in my early days of trading at $137. Sold at $424 yesterday.

Debating whether or not to jump back in tomorrow. It's been a hell of a ride - I'm not sure whether the ride will continue that much further without Steve to be honest. Might be time to move to more profitable ventures. Like RMBS. 😉

I've been shifting my attention towards the UK markets recently. LLOY and BARC have made me about 80% of my entire US trading history spanning a few years in under a month. Volatile but quite predictable highs/lows.

Agreed.

Funny how a lot of people are posting silly things like Jobs death is the cause of this earnings miss. Do they not realize that these #'s reported are from when Jobs was alive?
I guess it's not every day that $28B revenue and $6.6B net profit is underwhelming (but it really is, in comparison to the blockbuster fiscal Q3).

I find it interesting that on the conference call, they put great emphasis on iPhone 5 rumor-mongering as negatively influencing sales. While probably true, they already baked that into the cake 3 months ago when they guided $25B for the quarter and everybody LOL'd.

Their Q1 guidance isn't as jaw-dropping as I thought because it covers 14 weeks. Still would've expected Oppenheimer to throw out a number in the low 30s B$.

very risky.. I made about 2K this year on that stock and I just do intra day trades.

But it was 5 bucks something this year and down to 2.XX these days. At one point I had 30K in stocks tied in it when I bought it high.. luckily after a couple of months , it touched my cost price and I sold it right away. since then the value has falld 50 percent. so beware.

if you wanna trade, just do a same day trade. after monitoring the stock for 6-8 months now, I notice that if the stock goes a few percent high in the first few mins, then around 10 am PST, it hits the lowest point , I usually buy a few stocks then and sell it before close. I make a couple of percent in profit that way. so very riskly and so beware.

I don't have enough $ make same day trading worth the while 🙂

GLUU has been soaring the the last week or so. I was thinking of picking it up right now (before earnings) and hoping for good numbers.

All well for October RMBS options. Lost $500. Whatever. I think I'm just going to start buying actual shares now 🙂

$500 isn’t too bad. I ended up going with the Nov calls because the decisions never come as quickly as hoped - I’ve was burned just how you were when all of the auto crap was going down. The recent run up and time for a decision suggested to me that any winning for RMBS may be lukewarm and is now built in the price. I sold my calls last week when they were up 40% because the premiums were just out of control and didn’t justify a possible lower reward.

Awww shiet market pullback.

F-yeah! It should be for real this time, volumes were huge today. Been waiting over a week for this. Sitting on 50% cash and I've finally learned to be patient. Here's hoping to a nice 10-20% rally post pullback...

Rambus Swings to Profit That Beats Street View, Revenue Tops
04:21 PM EDT, 10/20/2011 (MidnightTrader)

RMBS swings to a Q3 non-GAAP profit of $0.12 compared to a loss of $0.02 a year earlier and tops the the Thomson Reuters mean analyst estimate for a loss of $0.01.

Revenue of $100.3 million tops the Street view for $89.4 million.

Good quarter with the additional licenses. One thing that stands out is the litigation expenses of $24.5 million. If we didn't have to sue all these deadbeats we would have had a pretty good profit - 25% net profit margin.

Stock being bid up after hours, although the spotlight is still the AT...

Too bad it still won't make my calls worth anything 😛

Congrats to you Azurik 🙂
