Just going to blow off a little steam here...

I'm in a 10-team league where you can start QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF. Somehow I ended up with Rice, McCoy, Forte. Heck Forte was still on the board when my 3rd pick came up and I couldn't let him sit there. My team is relatively stacked across the board, especially now that Miles Austin is back.

But here's the problem. I gambled, and lost, on Josh Freeman. In retrospect taking a Rivers or someone with my 3rd pick wouldn't have put me in any better shape but it's still frustrating. There's a guy in the league who has crap for backs, Tom Brady at QB, and Big Ben/Cam Newton sitting on the bench. He won't even consider a trade for any of them. I ran the numbers and based on projections we would both net out at about +50 points for the season if he traded me Brady for McCoy. Ah well such is FF. Any of you run into this kind of issue with people who just refuse to trade?

Oh well, I'll hope that either Freeman gets out of his funk or see if I can get something out of Hasselback going forward. I'm still in a good position to be honest just because I'm stacked at every other position, just frustrated that people are out there playing FF who don't believe in trades yet stockpile players on their bench.

I can certainly relate to you here. My team needed help last year, and NOBODY would trade ANYTHING to ANYBODY. Everyone thought you were out to screw them. I did the same thing as you and showed that trades would net both teams positive points, but it never worked.

Finally, this year, I've convinced one team to trade. And it has benefited us both equally thus far.

I do it tactically cuz I don't want to face the resultant combination down the road later. Otherwise if it's no threat to me, I don't veto.

You have to look at the bigger picture. You'd turn down a trade that helps both teams in the long run just because you'd have to face your former players once or twice down the road?

yeah, I take it on a case by case basis. either that or ATOT turned me into troll

also in my league, 50% of active players are required veto the trade. we got a lot of trolls in my league...I guess i just joined the culture of vetoing

You could get a better WR in that transaction. What other WRs does the guy have?

As the trade stands... Hell no.

The other team is garbage, he is 0-5 with the lowest aggregate point total in the league by far. The only WRs he has I want are Mike Thomas and DeSean Jackson. He definitely won't part with either since his team is really bad outside those players.

I will not make the trade and just stick with my team, thanks for the advice.

OK, since my RB situation is so bad, I'm starting to tickle people's ears about trades.

What do you guys think about this...

Other guy has Gore, needs WR help very badly.

I have Wallace, Bowe and Stevie Johnson.

Which would you trade straight-up for Gore?

Would leave me with James Jones as my WR3.

well definitely not wallace. I'd give up bowe the easiest out of those guys. Stevie is pretty fair I'd say, but Gore is injury prone.

At first I was like :| b/c Johnson is a risk. Injuries like his can linger all season. Then I was like 😀 b/c it's a PPR league, and you have to take a chance because you're 2-3.

It's basically Foster for McCoy + Johnson. They're both absolute beasts in PPR leagues. Well done, sir. shocksyde seal of approval.

At first he wanted Jennings. As much as I like Andre I couldn't see parting with Jennings with so much risk involved. I countered with Marshall and then he countered with Maclin. I had 3 solid WRs to begin with so even without Andre I'd still have 2 and my bench gets a little stronger

He went from Jennings to Maclin?

You should be a used car salesman, haha. Nice.

haha, thanks! well, he was in a pinch with byes and injuries for this week. I told him that the deal for Maclin I could do right now. If he wanted Jennings then I'd have to wait a couple weeks to see if Andre was back and playing well. He is 1-4 and really needs wins and couldnt wait that long.

Alright, pick 2 WR + Flex:

DeSean Jackson @ Washington
Deion Branch @ Dallas
Victor Cruz @ Buffalo
Jabar Gaffney @ Philly
Cedric Benson @ Indy

Jackson, Branch and Cruz; Benson might have a good day but the Dallas and Buffalo games are probably gonna be shootouts so you don't want to miss out on the production.

I'd probably go Djax and Branch, with Benson.

I think it's close between branch and cruz, but I'd pick brady and consistency. Benson is trash but against indy, I think he's the play over cruz

i agree it's close between branch and cruz (can throw gaffney out of the debate), but branch is the 4th receiving option on the team at this point. id say go with the home run hitter cruz in what should be a shootout.

How do you not go Benson against the Colts? He's a no-brainer, as is Jackson, it's just the third spot that's up for grabs as far as I'm concerned. I'd probably go Branch.
