I wouldn't hesitate to give up Gates. You can try giving him a choice of your lesser three WRs. How many teams in that league? Who are your RBs? Your WRs are pretty weak and if you are trying to get sjax I can't imagine you have much else. Maybe it's a deep league though idk

It is a 14 team league. My roster is as follows. This is actually my first time playing fantasy, so I'm sure I could've/should've done much better at the draft, but this is what I have (after a trade which got me Jordy Nelson).

Starters from last week:
Joe Flacco
Ray Rice
Pierre Thomas
Anqan Boldin
Jordy Nelson
Sidney Rice
Jimmy Graham
Janikowski
New England D

Bench
Kyle Orton
Ryan Grant
Johnny Knox
Mike Simms-Walker
Antonio Gates
Chris Cooley

I'm a bit scared to ask who you gave for Jordy. I assume you picked ray rice first round. Who was your 2nd round pick? But we're a little beyond that, week 4 already.

any thoughts on this potential trade?

i give up romo/megatron/mike sims-walker (throw away)
i get rivers/v.jackson/denarius moore

my thoughts: romo is my only qb and will be upgrading in rivers and also less of an injury risk. i get a decent replacement for megatron in v.jackson and a high upside player.

guy im trading with loves matching qbs to their wrs (see: rivers/v.jackson) and has stafford as his other qb to pair up with megatron.

megatron is clearly the top prize and it HURTS to give him up, so im agonizing over the trade.

What is your league scoring like? Do you WR's & QB's get bonus points for 100+/200+/300+ yard games? If it's conventional scoring without the bonus I don't think I could give up megatron this year. But you never know...next week Staffords shoulder could fall off and CJ's value is halved.

But if you get bonus points for big yard games then rivers and VJ have more upside. Calvin isn't a high yard guy, but he's a TD machine.

I wouldn't do that. Once romo is healthy and his receivers are healthy, he'll be fine. It's not like Rivers has been doing much anyway. Calvin is just too good to give up right now.

bolded is what im worried about. hard to trust romo for the year.

vi, pretty standard scoring, non-ppr, 2 pt bonus for 100 yd rushing/receiving and 300 yd passing (not a big bonus, but its there).

i get close to pulling the trigger and then think about megatron being out of this universe stud.

really just depends on whether or not romo can stay healthy. im thinking he can't.

I traded Willis McGahee and Dustin Keller for Nelson and Cooley. This was before I had picked up Sidney Rice and Simms-Walker from waivers.

Looks almost like it would have been Antonio Gates, 14 team league remember.

Yup, Rice 1st round and Gates second.

I'm going to try to offer him Gates and Rice. Thanks for the advice fellas.

What do you guys think about this trade?

Side A: Aaron Rodgers, Stevie Johnson, Ryan Mathews
Side B: Tony Romo, Hakeem Nicks, Darren McFadden

I'm thinking it's pretty even and beneficial to both considering Side A also has Rivers. Side B has a QB problem in Romo, also has Andre Johnson at WR. The RB swap could end up being a wash if Mathews continues to produce (and the same can be said for McFadden). The big difference here is replacing Romo with Rodgers...

What do you guys think? I'm side B in this scenario btw. QB is huge in this league and Romo is killing me. Luckily I'm currently in 2nd and 3-0 but it's one of those scenarios where my point output has been average but I've been lucky enough to catch 3 teams to start the season who have had really bad weeks or just bad teams.

You drafted a TE in the 2nd round??? Does your league reward 25 pts per yard for TE's??? You shouldnt be drafting a TE that early.

I wouldn't do it, unless you think nicks or mcfadden are going to get hurt. You're upgrading your QB(who was top 7 coming into the season and has been injured/his wrs are injured) while probably giving up the better WR and definitely the better RB. Mcfadden is the top fantasy RB right now, and mathews missed some practice this week. Stevie Johnson won't score a TD every game either. If you really want, try offering romo and nicks for rivers and stevie

So it looks like Foster will be playing this week? Will he be starting and will he be sharing carries with Tate?

word right now is that foster is starting and will go with a monitored workload to "ease" him back. tate will be relegated to relief back unless another tweak happens

side A got Rodgers and Rivers?

jealous...

Owen Daniels vs. PIT
Ed Dickson vs. NYJ

I think this one's tough b/c when the Ravens face tough defenses, Joe Flacco tends to check down a lot. This obviously benefits Ray Rice the most, but I think Ed Dickson will see increased targets this weekend. Also, I'm guessing Revis will be on Boldin and Cromartie will be on Torrey Smith.

Kellen Winslow vs. Indy

or

Greg Olsen vs. Chicago

???

Winslow is playing, but his knees are bothering him and it showed last week, but it's a choice matchup. Olsen faces a team with decent linebackers and is coming off a good game. It's also his former team - payback motivator.

Thoughts, suggestions?

olsen all the way

Yep. Indy actually covers the TE well and Chicago gave up three of them to Finely alone last week. Granted Olsen and Newton are nothing like Rodgers and Finley...but Olsen is a very good receiving TE and Newton has shown he can throw a decent ball.

Olsen without a doubt.

God I am so tempted to start Fitzpatrick over Rivers. Rivers has been killing me so far, but I know the one week I sit Rivers he'll go nuts. So frustrating.

KT

Can't decide if I should play Dexter McCluster vs Min, or Brandon Jacobs against Arizona in my flex spot. We are a .5 ppr league.

And Antonio Gates, I am disappoint!

Fitzpatrick @ Cincy

or

Manning @ Arizona

We all know how bad 'zona's defense is and Cincy's secondary is decent. But I don't know if Fitzpatrick is benchable at this point.
