Well look, that's the point. What is Heap's upside? 61 yards and a TD? or combine both guys, 100 yards and a TD. He won't reach that very often, and he can't get much more than that. We all saw Steve Smith's upside. That's his best game of the season for sure, but the potential is there, he is the number one target on that team, while Heap isn't, and at TE.
Sure, Benson is going to be a workhorse this year. But he doesn't catch many passes and he isn't that explosive anymore. Mojo and Charles didn't have very good games but they were only about 5 points below Benson, who was near his ceiling(he'll probably have a 2td game sometime though). As much as you might not like Mojo or charles, they have crazy skill. I know you don't think that matters, for whatever reason, but it gives them the chance to break out any given game. Look what Ray Rice did yesterday against the steelers. A lot of that credit goes to the Ravens in general, but cedric benson couldn't have had that type of game on that team. Charles and Mojo will win teams some weeks this year, and Benson won't. Benson will have far more dud games, but that's fine, and it's why Benson is a much later round pick. Benson is a fine player for his draft position, but he's not on the same level as the other guys.
Believe it or not, I agree with you for the most part. I'm not going to explain why again, since I already have before. I figure I'd just let you have your little victory and be done with it.
But yeah, I don't think ANYBODY expected what they got out of the Panthers. Then again, I don't think anybody expected a no-name tight end in Buffalo to pick up 2 TD's either. Just goes to show...
