Congrats to those here with GNVC. I didn't have the guts and was looking for a $1.50 strike price.

On another note, does anyone have an opinion of YRCW? This one has been shorted like crazy all year long. One would suspect a short squeeze sometime in the future.

Bought in GNVC at $1.7 about a week ago, sold it for $2.37 today. Waiting for a good dive before I get in again. AEN shot up 30% today alone.

Of course I sold out of GGWPQ, and it's up big again today 🙂 Oh well, a profit is a profit. I wasn't watching it close enough and it was making me nervous.

Sold most of my GGWPQ at 12.85. Sure I could hold out for the bidding war, but I'll wait for an opportunity to buy back cheaper. I've been nervous about the market lately too...

Edit: Sold half GNVC @ 2.52 for a very nice gain 🙂

Looks like AEN is on another similar run up back in early January.

This time I think I might sell after it looks like it's over. Last time I ended up holding on, and bam.

Though the 4Q Report will be released soon, so that could provide some legs... at least, it'd be nice if it did.

CTIC, waiting on the FDA panel (was supposed to have happened already, but weather brought delays). From the wording of FDA figureheads so far, I just don't know. Right now it has a beautiful entry price again, but within the immediate future it's probably going to swing something fierce based on the FDA word.
HT has continued a positive trend for quite a while now. Daily swings here and there but overall the upward momentum hasn't slowed.

Been watching the GNVC rollercoaster since I went in at $1.43/share. My heart broke when it topped $3/share and I wasn't around to sell it off, so I figured I'd just hold onto it. Guess that was a pretty darned good idea now.

You hold CTIC? It's been on my watch list, and I'm thinking about a .70 entry. The question is how big will it swing on the FDA word... I was very surprised how far it dropped(~40%) on the fact that the FDA decision was moved based on the weather.

First I've seen HT mentioned. I'll have to look it up.

Which ones for your besides GGWPQ and GNVC? 🙂 RMBS is pretty stale right now.

actually I might sell 90% of my GGWPQ and buy more GNVC today, I just don't hold enough GGWPQ that even if they offer $20/share (I think $20-40 is possible, probably not from Simon, maybe BAM), I will still make more with the money in GNVC.

My thoughts too, although I don't want to put all my eggs in the same basket. The current offer on GGP wasn't close to 20/share either, it was closer to 9 or 10 (at least not from my understanding of the offer).

I do think I'll hold out for GNVC to drop further, but since I'm waiting you should buy because what I choose to do will be the wrong thing 😉

What's your view of CTIC?

I had held CTIC for awhile, bought in when it was around 0.30, watched it peak around 2.00, cried as I watched it fall down a little, stabilized around 1.60, then was unable to sell until it fell to around $1.
That initial major tank was my last point of holding, been watching it hover around $1.10 for awhile and when it dropped to the 0.60s I was shocked. But can't decide if it's worthwhile to jump in again.

Many of my failures to capitalize on large gains have been around the notion that I'll risk some profit if it means I can save on my taxes. Trying to hold long-term for most things, but I'm starting to realize now that for a lot of the stocks I hold, it's either I wait years for potentially nothing, or cash out with larger gains even after taxes than just waiting it out for long-term.

it seems like the only thing you can be sure of with GNVC is that it will bounce around alot.

I'm confident that the drug will eventually be approved, but what happens between now an then is throwing darts at the wall. I don't know that I would consider buying above $2 anytime near term.

I bought more a on a couple occasions in the 1.7-1.9 range, it's now around 25% of my non-retirement acct. That's enough for me, and will be a healthy profit if all goes well.

what do you guys think of BDX? started looking into it last week in case I decided to get out of CREE or BK, and then yesterday there's news that Buffet increased his stake.

I agree with Dubb on GNVC. Other than TNF cancer treatment, they have no big revenue makers in the pipeline. Their stock is trading higher on only the speculation of good news in clinical trials which means squat. TNF does have good promise, especially when it can also be used in different avenues of cancer, and not just pancreatic cancer. If it ever did make it to market on multiple platforms, it will be a huge money maker (or it can completely flop or get tangled up in patent and IP law suits for decades). Again, I'm just speculating.

Avoid...I think I wrote how I feel about it few pages up.

Anyway, something definitely leaked at GNVC, as I see a bid of 329375shares at $2.42 on level 2. you just don't bet $800k on a tiny biotech company and just hoping for the best.

I just saw that same thing. 800k in one chunk, they weren't even trying to hide it.
